La pandemia del COVID 19 se ha convertido en un virus transformador de la sociedad mundial. Aun no se sabe con exactitud los cambios en la vida cotidiana de las personas y sus efectos a largo plazo. En muchos países de un solo empujón el covid19 nos convirtió en una sociedad digitalizada. Uno de los sectores donde el impacto ha sido mayor es en la educación. En caso de Venezuela pasamos de una educación presencial en precarias condiciones a una educación on line también en precarias condiciones. Salvo algunos colegios e instituciones privadas, nadie estaba preparado para abordar el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de manera virtual.

El docente principal protagonista del proceso de enseñanza a además de tener unas condiciones socio económico difícil las cuales no pretendo analizar en este artículo, se le suma su déficit en conocimientos sobre tecnologías y de plataformas educativas y en algunos casos hasta de saber cómo manejar un teléfono inteligente. La irrupción de la educación on line demanda de preparaciones adicionales para que el docente siga cumpliendo su rol de guía de los niños y de los padres.

Desde el año 2019 diversas organizaciones internacionales como la Organización Internacional del Trabajo, OIT, el Foro Económico Mundial de Davos, portales digitales como LINKEDIN han venido planteando que el profesional del futuro debe poseer y manejar las llamadas habilidades blandas o solf skills. Consideran estos y otros organismos que las personas además de sus conocimientos en el área profesional donde se desenvuelven deben saber ser empáticos, saber escuchar, saber de Coaching, dispuestos a cambiar las creencias y sobre todo deben tener flexibilidad cognoscitiva.

En el sector educativo mundial es dónde más resistencia hay para la adaptación al cambio, hoy nos encontramos con universidades, colegios y escuelas que se resisten a adoptar técnicas y otras formas de enseñanzas, siguen repitiendo técnicas conductistas que le fueron útiles a ellos cuando aprendieron pero que no sirven para los alumnos de este siglo.

Algunos colegios, cuyos dueños y accionistas han decidido dar unos pasos cortos y firmes al invertir recursos en la formación de sus docentes en esta habilidades blandas son los que más rápidamente se han adaptado a la formación on line, al modelo educativo que aún está en proceso de nacimiento en la post Pandemia.

Desde finales la década del 90 del siglo pasado cuando el politólogo italiano Giovanni Sartori definió a los hombres como los Homo Videns por la importancia que le hemos otorgados en nuestras vidas a los medios de comunicación social y sus imágenes no se imaginaba que llegaríamos a poner la educación de nuestros hijos en manos de una de ellas. Todos vemos televisión, cine, vemos vídeos, pero estamos todos preparados para dar formación a través del vídeo, están preparados los docentes para observar a sus alumnos a través de las cámaras.

Los docentes coach saben muy bien que la observación activa es una de la más importante herramienta que reciben en su formación. Que deben cultivar cada día para así captar el más minino detalle en el lenguaje no verbal de sus alumnos que pueda significar un cambio de conducta.El docente debe tomarse el tiempo necesario para observar a cada uno de sus alumnos en la pantalla de su ordenador, no podemos repetir el esquema del docente que solo ve y le habla al pizarrón o solo le habla a la cámara.

Considero que el docente de esta nueva normalidad académica debe desarrollar la observación activa hacia los siguientes aspectos:

Estimular la inmediatez, definiéndola como Proximidad en el tiempo o en el espacio. El hecho de estar separados por kilómetros no significa que la relación docente alumno sea fría y distante.
Observar los estados emocionales de los niños enfocándose en la auto estima, autorrealización , tolerancia al stress
Aprendizaje académico y agotamiento académico en este nuevo año, los docentes deben preguntarse si es conveniente el enviar esa enorme cantidad de materiales y tareas?
Observar los comportamientos de los niños que hacen ante la web cámara cuando no estén interactuando
Enseñarle los conceptos de proxemia y todo lo relacionado con la interacción con otras personas como una forma de potenciar sus habilidades sociales. Recuerden que ahora habrá niños que no se están relacionando otros niños.

El coaching es la herramienta llamada a complementar al docente del nuevo siglo, el estar en constante preparación es la manera de sortear todas estas nuevas realidades sociales. El estado y los dueños de instituciones de educación deben comprender que hay que invertir en la formación de sus docentes.
