Great editing to camouflage the powerlines Hannes.
I used to work on the powerlines in four provinces in our country and the reason for my dislike of them is that they kill many of our bigger birds.
Incidentally on Tuesday the 19th of January which was three day days ago, we lost a young pilot who was crop spraying in a helicopter.

I have never heard that a helicopter or airplane had crashed into power lines here. They are not even allowed to fly that low and additionally the power poles and lines have lights or highly visible balls installed.
Also, here I haven't seen helicopters or airplanes crop spraying. Maybe because our fields are too small, but I don't know.
Bad news just in Hannes.
Another Helicopter fell a few hours ago in Bergville, 5 people onboard killed.
Don't have the cause yet, but will know soon, as I am a member of the local flying club!
Yeah, even worse, it was a 911 helicopter with medical staff.
Crashed in Bergville near Marian's uncle Barry's farm and it's near the Drakensberg mountains.
We stayed in Bergville a few times and I know the area.
Bad news indeed!
I don't know what's going on here as yet another small crop spraying plane went down yesterday.
Pilot killed and drones were used to try and find it in the huge maize fields, but they failed.
So, they used a chopper with trackers to find it.

In this photo they don't look as bad, I know, but I have lots of photos from this area where they destroy the view. Usually I just clone them out, but if they run from one side of the image to the other it's always a lot of work, and that's the real annoying thing about these lines 😉

Yes, the snow and the overall scene helped to make the power lines not so visible. I think it would be a lot of work to dig all the power lines on earth into the ground, but I believe not only the photographers would be happy :) lol

it’s the same here on PEI... all the lines are above ground. I was told it was because of the magnetic field. Of course the cost to bury the lines would be a big expense.

Gorgeous photo! I am also one that did not notice them until you brought them up. In this photo, the trees covered with snow to quite a bit to hide the power lines. It can be hard not to focus on that one thing though...

We have about 5 C and the rain is washing all snow away, but it might get colder, changing the rain to snow, at least in the higher regions.
