Ancient Romanesque building systems - watercolors on paper
Hello all dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I present a very special watercolor painting namely a glimpse of a Romanesque cathedral in which I have highlighted ancient construction techniques. As you can see from the details, in this 13th century cathedral, they used tuff blocks to build the outer walls. The splay of the large window is very deep with a small stained glass window at the bottom. This poor interior lighting is very common in Romanesque churches. The upper part below the tiled roof line shows us some clay brick arches with a beehive lattice that lets air pass through as a roof gap. Another characteristic part is the brick arches that frame on the facade with a stone closing at the bottom.

Antichi sistemi di costruzione romanici - acquarelli su carta
Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi vi presento un dipinto ad acquarello molto particolare ossia uno scorcio di una cattedrale romanica nel quale ho evidenziato antiche tecniche di costruzione. Come potete vedere dai dettagli, in questa cattedrale del 13° secolo, per costruire le mura esterne hanno utilizzato dei blocchi di tufo. La strombatura della grande finestra è molto profonda con una piccola vetrata sul fondo. Questa scarsa illuminazione all'interno è molto diffusa nelle chiese romaniche. La parte alta sotto la linea del tetto a tegole ci mostra alcuni archi in mattoni di argilla con un reticolo ad alveare che lascia passare l'aria come un'intercapedine del tetto. Un'altra parte caratteristica è rappresentata dagli archi in mattoni che fanno la cornice sulla facciata con una pietra a chiudere in basso.
