Old house in the cold.
Hello everyone dear friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I share my latest watercolor which represents an old house between autumn and winter. I wanted to create a watercolor playing with warm and cold colors trying to balance the chromatic composition.
How?
The old wooden wall of the house has as its colors Burnt Sienna mixed with Indian red and the cracks in the wood are marked with sepia and brown Van Dick.

I used these very warm colors to contrast the cold tones of greens and ice on the trees but at the same time they balance the whole composition. The old cracked chimney is also highlighted by the dark mass of trees behind it.

A tonal and compositional balance that gives the painting a mild color temperature.

Vecchia casa al freddo.
Ciao a tutti cari amici e ben tornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido il mio ultimo acquarello che rappresenta una vecchia casa tra l'autunno e l'inverno. Ho voluto realizzare un acquarello giocando con i colori caldi e freddi cercando di bilanciare la composizione cromatica.
In che modo?
La vecchia parete in legno della casa ha come colori il terra di Siena Bruciata mischiata con il rosso indiano e le crepe del legno sono marcate con il seppia e bruno Van Dick.
Ho usato questi colori molto caldi per contrastare i freddi toni dei verdi e del ghiaccio sugli alberi ma allo stesso tempo bilanciano tutta la composizione.
Anche il vecchio camino screpolato è messo in evidenza dalla massa scura degli alberi dietro di esso. Un equilibrio tonale e compositivo che dona al dipinto una temperatura di colore mite.
