The ancient tower - watercolor on paper and photos

Hello everyone dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. My passion for history often leads me to visit places where the memories of our ancient ancestors linger. When these mysterious places are located on the sea then my excitement is amplified, to become almost an obsession for the love I feel for them.

The towers overlooking the sea are places exceptionally rich in contents handed down both as architecture and as dreams.

For millennia, the coastal towers have inspired writers and artists with stories, literary tales and paintings, lately even photographers have dedicated themselves to the search for these lonely places.

This tower dates back to 1500 and is located in Lazio and is part of a series of coastal watchtowers for the pirates who invaded the Lazio coasts. The towers were connected to each other by a system of mirrors and at night with fire signals and mounted messengers.

I love her like a beautiful woman!

So I decided to portray her with a watercolor painting and photograph her in many angles, just like you do with a beautiful model. This tower has a battlements formed by hanging limestone and tuff arches.

L'antica torre - acquarello su carta e foto

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e ben tornati sul mio blog. La mia passione per la storia mi porta spesso a visitare luoghi dove aleggiano i ricordi dei nostri antichi antenati. Quando questi posti misteriosi si trovano sul mare allora la mia eccitazione si amplifica, fino a diventare quasi un'ossessione per l'amore che provo per essi.

Le torri sul mare sono dei luoghi ecezionalmente ricchi di contenuti tramandati sia come architetture che come sogni. Le torri costiere da millenni ispirano letterati e artisti con storie, racconti letterari e quadri, ultimamente anche i fotografi si dedicano alla ricerca di questi luoghi solitari.

Questa torre è del 1500 e si trova nel Lazio e fa parte di una serie di torri costiere di avvistamento dei pirati che invadevano le coste laziali. Le torri erano collegate tra loro da un sistema di specchi e di notte con segnali di fuoco e messaggeri a cavallo.

La amo come una bella donna!

Così ho deciso di ritrarla con un dipinto ad acquarello e di fotografarla in molte angolazioni, proprio come si fa con una bella modella. Questa torre ha una merlatura formata da archetti pensili in pietra calcarea e tufo. Spero che il mio post vi piaccia e vi auguro un ottimo fine settimana, magari all'insegna della cultura.
