Now are some nice picks for Michigan! Not a particularly easy state to find music touting it's beauty, which is a shame. I can honestly say I've never heard of Lefty, but pretty good of country western! You can't go wrong with Simon & Garfunkel, and "I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo", what a classic!
You also have some nice pictures in there too, you really are showing off Michigan for a Michigan TTT! Great job!
Thank you! There were actually a lot of artists that covered that country song. I think Johnny Cash has a version out there too somewhere, but the one I am most familiar with is the Frizzell version.
Thank you, the first picture is called Lake of the Clouds and it is in the Porcupine Mountains. Not really much of a mountain compared to what you guys have out there, but it's still one of the higher spots in the state. The bridge photo was actually taken just about in the middle. The total length is five miles long though the distance between spans makes it one of the smaller suspension bridges in the world.
Kalamazoo lol I remember playing a game called Kalamazoo and it had companies on it that you could buy. That was the first time I had heard of Kalamazoo.
A picturesque place and for me the bridge pic wins it!
What a lovely post, it feels very personal and full of love for Michigan. I really enjoyed how you mixed memories, music, and local history in such a warm and authentic way. It definitely makes me want to listen to those songs and learn more about such a special state! 🎶🍂📍
Thanks! Michigan is really awesome. If you ever get a chance to visit you should definitely do it. Probably in the summer though. Winter can be brutal!

That first picture is magnificent! And I like the bridge picture as well, you can barely see the other side and it looks like an infinite bridge!

It's a cool town. Like I said, I have only been there a handful of times.
