The Pink Floyd Exhibition

in Discovery-it3 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog.

I’m very happy that the Covid-19 situation in Italy is getting better. A few days ago, in my region restaurants and museums have been reopened, as previously you could only eat take-away. The museums, like all activities based on promotion of culture such as theatres and cinemas, have suffered very much from the situation of the pandemic and I think it will take a long time for everything to return to pseudo-normality.

Honestly, I’m very disappointed in this situation and I think the government hasn’t behaved in the best way.
First of all, in my opinion, places such as museums and cinemas are the ones where it is perhaps the easiest to keep the distance between people: it would be enough to sell a number of tickets appropriate to the capacity of the rooms and suitable for maintaining interpersonal distance. Furthermore, in a difficult period such as that of the pandemic and the post-lockdown, I think that recreational and artistic activities are becoming increasingly important and could have contributed to the education of the population. Let me know what you think!

I have many friends who work in the culture sector and I have been able to feel the sadness, difficulty and resignation of this last year with Covid-19. So, since the museums have now reopened, I thought I'd do my part by going to visit the Pink Floyd Exhibition that is held right in this period in my city. Actually, the exhibition should have ended several months ago, but the pandemic has delayed both its opening and closing.
In order to visit the exhibition, it was necessary to book and the maximum number of people allowed for each time slot was 5. For the entire duration of the tour, it was necessary to wear a mask and disinfect your hands between one room and another.

So, today I bring you with me to discover the ”Pink Floyd Exhibition”, an exhibition that is not limited to the visual path, but also integrates plays of sounds and music, it's multisensory. The lights are simply breathtaking and they create a magical atmosphere. The downside, however, is that I had serious problems taking good pictures, because many subjects were in motion and there was a dynamism between soft light and almost total darkness. Another problem related to taking pictures was the size of the works: often they were reproductions on a huge dimensional scale, 4/5 times my height! I did my best, I hope it’s enough.

The exhibition begins with a full-immersion into the band's past, starting from the members to the most characteristic places where they played and composed their most famous songs. Fans can recognize unreleased and original tapes, vinyls, posters and concert tickets. There are even instruments and amplifiers used by the members of the group that had never been exhibited previously in any place.

The exhibition tells, year by year, all the adventures of this rock group among the most iconic of all time, all accompanied by the background of their best songs. From the moment you enter the first room, it's like entering into a place completely detached from reality: holograms, video interviews, drawings, manuscripts, ... Everything a fan could wish for.

Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands and best songs, on my opinion, are Comfortably numb, Wish you were here, If, Another brick in the wall and Time.

I leave you with some photos of the exhibition.

I Pink Floyd sono tra i miei gruppi preferiti di sempre e le migliori canzoni secondo me sono Comfortably numb, Wish you were here, If, Another brick in the wall e Time.

Incredibile!!

Wow .... awesome exhibition... I grew up listening to Pink Floyd .... I remember like it was yesterday. Listening to Another Brick in the Wall over and over and over again. It was a great time to be a kid..... we don’t need no education....

One of the greatest songs ever 😍 thanks for your comment, I wish you a beautiful day 😊

Hope you enjoyed this Pink Floyd themed post.

I enjoyed it @delilhavores

It is good that finally some culture event could be held. It is giving the feeling of an almost normality, but we are still too far away from the real normal. Good for you that you could visit it and share with us at least the photos from the exhibition. Thank you :)

You're right! For example, the fact that there are only 5 people per room is really strange for an exhibition, you don't feel the same atmosphere! But I am glad that small steps are being taken towards normality, although we are still very far away, as you said...
The sad thing is that I don't understand why the museums have not reopened before, they are places where it is very easy to contain only a certain number of people, while for example in restaurants there are also 30/40 people without a mask and no one has ever said something about it. It seems that art in Italy is losing more and more importance, a really sad thing considering our roots ...
Thanks for passing by on my blog, I wish you a great day :)
