Sometimes during my walks I sit down on a bench and enjoy the surroundings. Also today I paused briefly under a big tree (wearing my barefoot shoes) and saw the first signs of "autumn" in the fresh green grass.
The tree produces its seeds in very large numbers, which elegantly fall down to the earth, spinning around itself.
Does anyone of you know under which tree I sat today?

Manchmal setze ich mich bei meinen Spaziergängen auf eine Bank und genieße die Umgebung. Auch heute pausierte ich kurz unter einem großen Baum (mit meinen Barfußschuhen) und sah im frischen, grünen Gras die ersten Anzeichen von "Herbst".
Der Baum produziert in sehr großer Anzahl seine Samen, die elegant um sich selbst drehend auf die Erde herabfallen.
Weiß jemand von euch, unter welchem Baum ich heute saß?

Thanks so much for your answer! Unfortunately it is not a maple tree but a lime tree (german: Linde).
Their seeds are different from the seed of a maple tree. Have a look:
They are falling down more like a parachute spinning around with the seeds pointing to the ground.

No, I don't recall any trees named that. I've lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, Gunnison, Colorado, and now up in the Pacific Northwest. That's not to say they aren't here, but I've not heard of them.😎👍
