One aspect, which I find very interesting about the caves, is that the stalactite and stalagmite formations grow by only one centimeter in 100 years: an excellent piece of information for understanding that our time span of life on this earth passes as fast as lightning, compared to eternity? ๐

I seem to recall something like that! That IS amazing for sure! It would be cool to go cave spelunking again!
I haven't been to visit a cave in years; the closest lately, which was still quite a few years ago, was a spelunking adventure into a lava tube. No electric lights; totally pitch black and only the lantern we carried to see with. We took it all the way back (a long way back) to where it was so low in height you had to get on your knees and crawl. Then it disappeared into the earth.
