Messier 42 - The Orion Nebula

in Actifit4 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemians,

I thought I'd make a post again, even if it's all higgledy-piggledy here on steem and my post won't get much attention due to it. However, I tried to combine my image of the Orion Nebula from some years ago with the data I was able to collect this winter. I used my recent H-alpha data as a luminance layer, which results in quite popping colors.

Außergewöhnlich tolles Bild vom Orion Nebel. WOW!
Besser geht nicht!

Vielen Dank Peter :-)
Freut mich, dass es dir gefällt :-)

I missed the post! But upvoted this comment instead. I checked out the Wikipedia page. Your photo is so much more spectacular. Read up on the history link. I used to look into the sky and think it was unchanging, that our ancient ancestors saw what we see, and this united us across time. But that's not true. The ancients do not appear to have noticed this nebula at all because it didn't shine as brightly (or at least the stars around it didn't).
My first Steemit read for the day. Dazzling. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your kind words @agmoore2 :-)
Damn, I totally missed it with all the corona and hive things in the last days. Sorry!
Thank you for telling me this with the brightness. I wouldn't have expected this. I think I need to read a little bit more on the historic of it :-)

Klasse Bild 👍🏻
