Slow start after a late night writing and markets stuff. My wife was heading out early to visit her brother for his 45th birthday. Gave me the space to go for a bend the legs ride. Chose to ride east to an area I have not been able to visit since lockdown began. I had a plan - that got changed with police action on the road I wanted to go down.
Good thing I know the roads. That had me riding up a hill I normally ride down. A few teardrop flowers a little past the first promise of orchids flowers
Two cryptostylis subulata buds - not seen these before as I am normally whizzing down the hill at 60 km/h - this us why I like out and walk track work. That way I do not miss things

Nice chat with another Great Cycle Challenge rider down here - Clive had just crossed 400 kms for his challenge. He lives a few houses down the road for.me and was exercising his freedom
Spied some orchids budding between the crash barriers and the road - rose hyacinth orchid on the way close to the bottom of the hill

Found the donkey orchids higher up than previous years. This is the one I saw first - laid the bike down and there were two more

Bearded orchid on the way up the hill - looks like calochilus campestris - copper bearded orchid. Strange to see the lower flower not seeded while the ones above have
The ride turned out a little longer than plan on account of the police cars. All good as it did get me a new orchid site. The quiet parts of the ride were great. Did cop a really clowe encounter with a car coming into roundabout with me in the circle st 35 km/h. Prick!!!!

Did a little garden work patching up gaps in the front lawn. This is a losing game as it is the turning circle to get the cars up the driveway forwards. Wheel spins kill the grass.
