We have a sunny day. Went on a dual mission - check orchids and do the shopping. Getting it into my head to get back to Covid times. Shop in one place close to an orchid spot and get two types of supermarket in one place
Walking the Terrey Hills side of Ku-ring Gai Chase NP - hakea flowering over the track
Mayfly orchid flowering in a new spot - surprising - walked past this at least 3 times a season every year for over 10 years

Right on the edge of the track - bunochilus longifolius - tall greenhood. First up for the season. Was sure I would find them off track but did not have to go there

Kept walking the track hoping to find cobra greenhoods seen last year. Did spy this spike with buds - leek orchid
Close up of the buds. Not the best focus but enough to confirm prasophyllum brevilabre. Was not expecting that

Did walk off track - found a lot of bunochilus orchids in new places
Front on - first few photos were a bit confusing for ID - these are more clear - hairs on the labellum

One more bunochilus flowering - good to find them a bit more widely spread than previous years
Next orchid up - corybas aconitiflorus at end of cycle
One a bit younger - spurred helmet orchid - a known spot

Good walk with 6 orchids flowering and two new for the season. Did the shopping after
Cooked a different dinner - chicken, leek, mushroom, white wine, sour cream, fresh thyme, chicken stock. Was tasty
