Yesterday I walked around the town near Lisbon where I'm staying for the Monero Konferenco.
Vila Franca de Xira has a bullfighting arena, where there was an event with loud music. It was a national holiday: Sacrament Day.
In the same area, there's a cemetery on a hillside. I think there's one church and a chapel, but many graves are buildings too.
Not so holy: the serp i molot is everywhere. The communists have a stronger presence on the street than the socialist majority.
They also have what looks like a local HQ in a traditional tiled building.
There were many beautiful buildings with ugly shop fronts on the high street.
Most shops were closed for the holiday. I bought drinks from a Nepali immigrant, trying to speak Spanuguese out of habit, until he asked me if I spoke English. Later I had dinner at a Punjabi restaurant, which was excellent food for a low price.
There's also a park between the marina and the train station.
Everyone will appreciate this train station, but I also like this modern office tower.
