Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!
Simple things. Sometimes that’s all I need to be content. Every fall, it’s tradition for me to collect pumpkins 🎃 I’ve done this for years. I can remember some years ago when we lived in Ohio and the kids were small, I carved 15 pumpkins for Halloween-all with different faces. Well, I don’t carve them any longer mainly because there are no children that come for Halloween. It’s hard to trick or treat in the country. So instead, I just collect them. I once in Colorado had a large pumpkin that was 3 years old and had almost dried completely until one of my children stabbed it with a screwdriver when I was at work. It didn’t end well for the pumpkin 😔
We headed out to a little roadside stand to see what the offerings were. One driveway up from there, however, we stopped first to see if there were any eggs in the little roadside refrigerator. Jackpot-there was and I got some fresh huge brown eggs for $3. Nice!
So onward to the next driveway brought us to the fresh produce stand. These folks put this up every year, but this is the biggest amount of pumpkins and squash, apples and onions and other various items they’ve ever had. @silvertop wanted to take my pic by the cute wagon loaded with pumpkins.
Once home, it was time to pack up @actifit-lamb and company for our hike. I’m not sharing photos for her today as she said she wanted to work on a post for her blog here soon. I sure hope she plans on writing it during the day. Last time, I found her on the computer after we had gone to bed!🙀 She needs her sleep!
Anyway, it was a beautiful fall day with a nice breeze, awesome temperatures and sunny skies. I took this shot of a dead fir tree along Buckhorn Loop and caught @silvertop in the pic as well.
Jan got a late start as she had crab to cook, but she went to Towhee Ridge and waited until we got there. Then we all hiked back down together.
