I didn’t have the call I thought I was supposed to have today for work, which let a little pressure off of me. Once up, showered and coffee-ed, I headed up to my loft to begin work. I had brought home jobs from Friday hoping to get them done today. It took around 2+ hours to finish it. I didn’t even touch the insurance verifications for Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. I’ll look at Wednesday’s tomorrow, but Thursday and Friday’s are a bit trickier due to it being the beginning of February. For regular insurance, no problem; but for Medicaid, certain ones won’t give an authorization until you’re in the month the appointment is in. Such a drag. It’s going to be sketchy as the doc starts Thursdays this week. All days are booked solid which means I’ll have no ‘catch up time’ available to do them in. To complicate matters, our new employee has to leave early on Thursday. 😏 Maybe the doc should have hired 2 people!! 🤪
After I got to a stopping place, we did worship music. I’ve been having trouble keeping my vocal cords clear of phlegm ever since I contracted whatever bug it was at the beginning of January. I can still sing but sometimes my voice cracks due to all of it. It’s maddening to me! 🙄
Then, we needed to run errands so first, dropped off a couple of library books that were due back and then went back to the Riverside Park to check on the river. Much to everyone’s relief, the flood stage was fairly quick with minimal flooding. Lots of standing water around, but quite a bit of that is ground water rising. Here’s some pics from the park.
You can see what the force of the water did to these signs which appear to be anchored in concrete!
We headed to the bank in Lynden and then for a quick coffee date. 🥰 I saw this interesting sky.
Now, about the title to the post. Our son took Phoenix out into the back country today. From the car, she saw what we later discerned, was a deer. (The pic of it looked more like a bear, but it wasn’t real clear) Anyway, that is all summed up in her body language in this photo.
She wants that deer! 🐶🤣🐶 Never mind it’s much, much bigger than her!

We are grateful for the receding river. The people in the area are still shell shocked from the November 2021 flood; some are still working on their houses!

We still battling with water supply and electricity since flooding in 2022, yes always something to be grateful for when rivers don't rise aggressively.
Some dogs and cats do think they rule over all, very cute!
