Today was not a walking day. It was just too hot during the day and in the evening we visited with relatives for the 4th of July holiday. But I got plenty of steps because I was working around the house, weeding, watering, picking basil, making pesto etc.
Here are some pictures from the day. Let’s start with the garden.
I love my garden because there is always something blossoming this time of year.
These first two pictures are of flowers that actually all dropped their blossoms a few days ago, and I’m showing them to show the progression of different things blossoming around the garden.

Now for subject two for today - Caturday! As we all know Saturday is a great day for sharing our kitty pictures. So here is Angel!
And the final topic is 4th of July - a great holiday here in the U.S. Normally we put out a blanket down by the lake and watch a giant display that is put on by the local fire department from a boat. But they didn’t do it this year because of the pandemic.
So we had a backyard fireworks display at the home of my sister and her husband (@preparedwombat), with the kids lighting small, legal fireworks that you can get at any store here. Meanwhile the neighbors were shooting the big ones! So we got to enjoy both.

Hi @joanstewart! That is possibly the name of the lilies but I planted them so long ago that I don’t remember. The pink ones are up to my knee cap in height. The white ones are almost as tall as me! I have to tie them up or the fall as soon as they blossom.
The fireworks next door were indeed the loud ones and we braced for each one. It is hard on pets. Fortunately my sisters dog and cats got comforted and were doing okay.

Ha ha if it is the flower I am thinking of they have a gorgeous perfume, just watch not to pollinate when smelling them!
We are able to purchase herbal remedy called "Rescue" for humans and pets during thunder storms or when people insist on using loud bangs, most definitely do work in helping pets to relax, not sure if something like that is available where you live.
I haven't heard of it. But none of our pets (or my sister's pets) really suffer at all. They might be just a bit nervous. But I know people whose pets are absolutely terrified, and they definitely need something like that!
Dog that adopted us is one that literally goes lame for about three hours after lightning storms, never had a pet so terrified. Have a wonderful week.

Hahaha, I see. But anyway, taking care of them is the most important part here. Not many people are so worry about taking care of a plant, for example. They just let it dry or just don´t plant any.
