Nachdem ich zwei Tage mit einer Erkältung im Bett gelegen habe, war ich gestern richtig froh, mich endlich wieder etwas fitter zu fühlen und ein wenig draußen spazieren gehen zu können. Passenderweise schien auch endlich einmal wieder die Sonne, was in letzter Zeit eher selten der Fall war. Was so ein paar Sonnenstrahlen ausmachen. Alles wirkte gleich viel lebendiger und ich stellte mir vor, wie es sein wird, wenn wieder der Frühling einkehrt, und das Leben sich wieder mehr mehr nach draußen verlagert. Ich vermisse einfach die Natur, unsere Wanderungen oder einfach nur ein auf einer Picknickdecke zu liegen und die Sonnenstrahlen zu genießen.
Ich vermisse sogar die Gartenarbeit ;)
Wenn es tage- oder auch wochenlang nur grau in grau draußen ist, fehlt einfach das Licht, um sich wirklich gut zu fühlen. Es ist, als ob einem das Grau die Energie absaugt.
After lying in bed for two days with a cold, I was really happy yesterday to finally feel a bit fitter again and to be able to go for a walk outside. Fittingly, the sun was finally shining again, which has been rather rare lately. What a difference a few rays of sun make. Everything seemed much more alive and I imagined how it will be when spring comes again and life shifts more outside. I just miss nature, our hikes or just lying on a picnic blanket and enjoying the sun's rays.
I even miss gardening ;)
When it's just gray in gray outside for days or even weeks, you just don't have the light to really feel good. It's as if the gray sucks the energy out of you.
Aber nun zu unserem Spaziergang.
Wir sind an die Weser gefahren, an der auch der beliebte Weserradweg von Hannoversch Münden über Bremen und Bremerhaven bis hoch nach Cuxhaven führt...immer der Weser entlang.
Der Teilabschnitt am Fähranleger in Bad Oeynhausen wird zurzeit aufwendig erneuert, da es hier keinen richtigen Radweg gab, und dieses oft zu Kollisionen zwischen Radfahrern und Fußgängern führte. Zudem soll ein kleines Touristen Informationszentrum an dieser Stelle gebaut werden.
Der Fähranleger wurde daher an diesem Ufer abgebaut und der Weg auch für Fußgänger komplett gesperrt.
But now about our walk.
We went to the Weser, along which also the popular Weser cycle path leads from Hannoversch Münden via Bremen and Bremerhaven up to Cuxhaven...always along the Weser.
The section at the ferry dock in Bad Oeynhausen is currently being extensively renovated, as there was no real bike path here, and this often led to collisions between cyclists and pedestrians. In addition, a small tourist information center is to be built at this location.
The ferry landing stage was therefore dismantled on this bank and the path was also completely closed to pedestrians.
Wenn man den Weserradweg in die entgegengesezte Richtung läuft, sieht man aus der Ferne schon einen historischen Verladekran. Dieser steht mittlerweile tatsächlich unter Denkmalschutz. Ich bin der Meinung, dass man ein Denkmal auch pflegen sollte, aber wie Ihr seht, sieht das Kranhaus einfach nur schäbig aus und verottet so langsam vor sich hin. Der kulturelle Wert erschließt sich mir hier nicht so ganz, aber vielleicht besitze ich auch einfach keinen Sinn dafür.
If you walk along the Weser cycle path in the opposite direction, you can see a historic loading crane from a distance. This is now actually under monument protection. I am of the opinion that a monument should also be maintained, but as you can see, the crane house just looks shabby and is slowly rotting away. The cultural value does not quite open up to me here, but maybe I just do not have a sense for it.
Auf dem Rückweg sind wir an dem mal wieder geschlossenen Restaurant "Weserhütte" vorbeigekommen.
Obwohl Bad Oeynhausen eine Kurstadt mit einem wunderschönen Kurpark ist, sowohl die Weser als auch die Werre durch dieses Städtchen fließen und es einen touristischen Anklang findet, gibt es kaum schöne Orte, die zum Verweilen einladen. Die Weserhütte wurde vor etlichen Jahren direkt an den Weserradweg und dem Fähranleger errichtet, mit dem Ziel ein trendiges Ausflugslokal zu werden. Obwohl es hier ganzjährig viele Spaziergänger und auch Radfahrer gibt, haben es die verschiedenen Betreiber bisher nicht geschafft, eine gut laufende Gastronomie zu etablieren. Es erschien alles immer recht konzept- und lieblos umgesetzt und damit lockt man heutzutage eben kein zahlendes Puplikum mehr an. Allein die Lage ist kein Garant für Erfolg. Ich hoffe, dass mit Umbau des Radweges auch an diesem Ort eine Veränderung stattfinden wird. Gerade in einer kleineren Stadt ist das Gastronomiesterben fatal, da es so kaum noch schöne gastronomische Einrichtungen gibt, die man ohne Auto erreichen kann.
On the way back we passed the once again closed restaurant "Weserhütte".
Although Bad Oeynhausen is a spa town with a beautiful spa park, both the Weser and the Werre flow through this little town and it has a tourist appeal, there are hardly any beautiful places that invite you to linger. The Weserhütte was built several years ago right next to the Weser cycle path and the ferry dock, with the aim of becoming a trendy place to go out. Although there are many walkers and also cyclists here all year round, the various operators have not yet managed to establish a well-run restaurant. Everything always seemed to be implemented in a rather conceptless and loveless manner, and this is no way to attract a paying clientele nowadays. The location alone is no guarantee for success. I hope that with the reconstruction of the bike path a change will take place at this location. Especially in a smaller city, the gastronomic death is fatal, because there are hardly any nice gastronomic facilities that you can reach without a car.

In diesem Fall handelt es sich um ein Werkstatt Projekt, in dem Jugendliche erste Berufserfahrungen machen können. Es werden Praktika und diverse andere Projekte angeboten, um die Bildungs- und Berufsausbildungsperspektiven zu ergänzen bzw. zu erweitern.
Meanwhile, the term "HIVE" seems to have become a popular name for companies or institutions.
In this case, it is a workshop project in which young people can gain their first work experience. Internships and various other projects are offered to supplement or expand educational and vocational training prospects.
Zur Stärkung nach dem Spaziergang gab es noch ein paar leckere Waffeln. Wenn es keine schönen Cafes in der Gegend gibt, muss man sich seine Waffeln eben selber backen. Ist ohnehin günstiger ;)
For refreshment after the walk we had some delicious waffles. If there are no nice cafes in the area, you just have to bake your own waffles. Is anyway cheaper ;)

Ein schöner Spaziergang.
Das mit dem Kranhaus versteh ich auch nicht wirklich. Ob es dieses Objekt wert ist zu schützen, kann ich nicht wirklich sagen, aber dann sollte man sich wirklich drum kümmern.
Die Gastronomie stirbt leider wirklich immer mehr. Ist einfach zu wenig zu holen. Extrem viel Arbeit und letztendlich kommt nicht dabei rum. Dazu werden die Auflagen immer heftiger. Schade.

Ja, die Gastronomie ist schon ein hartes Pflaster und auch für die Arbeitnehmer nicht mehr sonderlich attraktiv. Da müsste sich schon eine Menge ändern.
Es ist doch eigentlich auch ein Kulturgut und eine Begegnungsstätte für Menschen und daher schade, wenn nicht mehr viel davon übrig bleibt. Aber vielleicht führt dies auch zu einem Wandel, bei dem nur die Innovativen überleben und der Rest eben ausstirbt. "Survival of the fittest" sozusagen ;)
