Rainy days make for a good day to have some nice hot soup. It was a pretty much unanimous decision among my group of friends that dinner today should be something that warms the stomach nicely.
Enter fish soup! We definitely took more than just fish soup of course, but the main item was definitely the fish soup. This was a supposedly famous stall recommended by someone in our group and their specialty is fresh Grouper in their special blend of soups.
The fish was indeed nicely cooked and very fresh. Considering that it was basically just brought out of a tank and slaughtered, I don’t think it can get fresher than that. The soup was also really rich and tasty, but not too “heavy” (if that’s the word to use).
Of course the other dishes were also pretty good. In particular, the hot plate Tofu, stir fried clams in some kind of wine (cooking rice wine perhaps?), and last but not least, the salted egg fried pork cubes. Those where really crispy with the salted egg yolk sauce making a perfectly nice accompaniment with the dish.
Overall, I left there feeling really satisfied and full. Needless to say, I think I gained back more than what I was supposed to burn off after my daily walk before dinner. ;)
