TGIF 🍻🍷 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us and as always glad you stopped by yet again 👏. My day has been great and it's now that time of day to slow down and take a look at how things went and also what's trending in the media streets. Come on, let's take it away 💨.
So I started the day with a short brisk walk around the neighbourhood, today was a little warmer than yesterday which motivated me to keep going. Then I was back indoors for some resting and some of the little household chores here and there. Later in the afternoon I had some few errands at the city centre. Then back home I squeezed in the usual nap before the evening set in. Next came the slow paced evening walking session enjoying the cool breeze🍃.Throughout the day I have been following up on the trending news, that's next.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹.
A court has given the controversial finance bill green light, so now the govt can impose higher taxes and the housing levy🙀. This will definitely lead to protests.
Then the worldcoin eye scanning orbs have made it to Nairobi😹. Yesterday I saw long queues at the mall and was wondering what was happening but today I found out there are 30 orbs in various malls in the city🙀. I'm still doing my due diligence before deciding if I will get that airdrop worth $70.
Then Niger trending, the constitution has been suspended as coup leader announced himself as transitional president😹. The president still remains locked up at an undisclosed location🙀.
Let's go to Russia where Putin ended his summit with African leaders. African Union chief has said grain supply from Russia isn't enough, what is needed is peace in Ukraine. Putin said he was carefully examining proposals to end the war, but talk is cheap let's wait and see his actions😹.
Also trending, Qatar's PM was in Kyiv meeting president Zelensky. The emir of Qatar has donated $100 million to Ukraine💯.
Across the pond, in the US, former president Donald Trump will be facing more charges🙀. He allegedly ordered an employee at his resort to delete security camera footage sought by department of justice😹. He has vowed to run for president no matter what.
Finally, thousands of people have been protesting in Peru as the country marked it's independence day. They are demanding resignation of the interim president Dina Boluarte and fresh elections. Let's hope the voice of the people prevails💯.
