Gold fever!😳
It’s funny how you can live in an area, and never explore all the trails right in your own backyard....
Gold mine trail is within a mile of Silvertop’s home, and I have never walked this trail...
So after I ran to town for gas for the chainsaw and weedeater, I made a detour.....
Look there, in the third photo, what is at the bottom of the hill?
You’re looking at the entrance to the gold mine!🤩
This is literally in the middle of nowhere, miles up in the hills! The walking trail to get to this mine is a single foot path, most of the trail on a steep hillside!
There is even a rusty mining ore car outside!🤗
Well this was just an exploration hike, this is definitely worth a few return trips uphill!
I think all @actifit hiking leads to a Gold mine my friends, good health is so much more precious than Gold!😊

I can't wait to go back up with the Mrs, this year the trail is so muddy at the bottom I'll have to wait a week or two to be able to go back up......The Mrs doesn't like muddy trails....😇

Gold mine trail! That is an appropriate trail for you and Mrs @silvertop! You must go hike that trail more often. It is a trail just for you and Liz! The trail looks like inclined or something. Was it a hard trail to maneuver?

This Gold mine has a story behind it, I looked it up, and they built a large mill, hotel, dance hall/ saloon, and had a large crew. In the end, very little Gold was pulled out of the ground.....
Some say it was too expensive, others say it was a very elaborate scam. Hundreds of investors came from as far as back East, to San Francisco and Seattle.
I passed people with shovels and a metal detector, I ask if they thought something was up there still......They said "Oh yes, you have no idea!.🤔.."
When the beginning of the trail dries out, I will take the Mrs up....It starts by walking up a creek bed, very muddy this time of year, well this year LOL!
