Strange how you can live for years in a place and never get out to play tourist....
Today the Mrs needed to do a bulk mail drop for her work at a small post office up the road from where we live.
We are in the foothills, and the day was so nice I said let’s just drive up toward the mountain.
It’s about 25 miles to the top, and they close this down in the Fall.
This is the Mt. Baker National Forest!
The third photo is sometimes mistaken for the volcano, this is Mt Shuksan, taken from the top, the end of the road, at what is called Artist point.😊
One of our sons was ski patrol for several years, at the Mount Baker ski area, and always tried to get Mom and Dad to come up.....
Life....Work.....somehow we never did......

It was a lovely day, however next time I AM TAKING HIKING BOOTS! Nurse's clogs just don't do well in the mountains and I had no idea we'd end up there! LOL! 😂

When I went on my big drive a couple of weekends ago this was one option on my list of places places to drive! I haven’t been up to Baker since.... 1995 maybe?
Lucky for you the drive is shorter!
So sad to say this was the first time I ever drove all the way to the top to Artist Point....🙃 Work, work, work....We are going back in a couple of weeks to hike...for real Lol!!🤣
FInally I know where those hilltops are where you guys walk each time. I once visited California-Utah-Vegas (3 wks) and in another year Denver-Utah-Durango area - New MExico-Denver but your corner not yet.
I think all the different mountains have their special charm. We used to live on the Western Slope of the Colorado Rockies, in a small town called Gunninson. Blue skies everyday!!! I guess I'm pulled to the Mountains LOL!😀
