Today was one of those days that you wished that you could just sleep in till Noon Lol!๐
โSilvertopโฆโฆโฆ..Church is half empty, where is everyone today?โ๐ฎ
Liz and Silvertop live deep in the forest, with several extremely combustible 500 plus year old Western Red Cedar trees, only several feet from our front door.
We were dreading our neighbors very โOver the Topโ Fourth of July Fireworks Show!๐
Guys Silvertop really likes Fireworks, let me explainโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆ.
Years ago in Cincinnati, we had a fireworks competition with several neighbors on our street. This was a โBattle for the most incredible aerial fireworks displayโ!๐
Silvertop would place a 250 foot mortar in a bed of sand, so it was stableโฆโฆโฆโฆ.
BOOMโฆโฆ we would light one up!โบ๏ธ
Then the neighbor would send one up!
Then we would light up the sky with another, and then another!
Everyone was careful, and we had plenty of clear open space for the fireworks!๐
Fun times my friends!๐ค
Times have changedโฆโฆโฆโฆ..
Now the mortars are much more powerful, reaching 500 feet above the ground, well above the Cedar trees of the forest!๐
If you try to light up a โgreenโ Cedar branch, you will discover that it very quickly becomes a flaming fireball!๐ฌ
Just after 10PM the sky lit up with a loud blast, that rattled our windows, and colorful sparks spread across our neighbors back yard!
โSilvertop are hot sparks falling near our Cedar trees?โ๐ณ
โI hope not Liz!โ
Cot did an extremely fast low belly crawl across the house, and ended up hiding behind our water heaterโฆโฆ๐บ
One 500 foot shell, then another, and another!
This continued till 11:25PM๐ฎ
Finally it stoppedโฆโฆโฆโฆ.
Cot still would not come out, my brave โBaby Mountain Lionโ didnโt know what was going on, but he definitely didnโt like it!๐ป
Thankfully nothing caught on fire!๐
โ Lizโฆ.. why donโt they light up their fireworks down here at the river! There arenโt any cedar trees down here, itโs much safer!โ๐ค
Thankfully it was a safe Fourth of July, I hope yours was as well!๐

I agree, fireworks in summer in a dense conifer forest is playing with fire indeed! So many people sadly don't think and consider their actions, and their ramifications, before they carry them out! ๐๐๐โจ๐ค
I have watched several videos on YouTube where fireworks have fell sideways and ignited cars and homes and trees!๐ณ๐
