Newborn baby Deer are born with spots. I asked Chat GPT β¦β¦.βhow long does it take for the spots to fade away?β

For white-tailed deer (the most common deer in Washington State):
- At birth: Fawns have bright white spots on a reddish-brown coat. The spots help camouflage them in dappled sunlight while they lie hidden in grass or underbrush.
- Around 2β3 months old: The spots begin to fade.
- By 3β4 months old (late summer to early fall): Most fawns have lost nearly all of their spots and develop their plain brown winter coat.β
Silvertop and the Mrs have been watching, and waiting, for this yearβs βcropβ of babies, these two are the first!π€
In a previous post, Silvertop talked about how our five acres must have a very large neon sign over it statingβ¦β¦ βThis is a safe place, come on in Lol!βπ
Thereβs no way to tell for sure if this mother Deer is one of Silvertop and Lizβs last years babies, but I would like to think that she is!π
I quickly snapped a few photos, and these two babies became tiny coiled up springs, and bounced their way out of sight and into the forest!π
They will be backβ¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦.
After all, this is the βNurseryβ!π

Today, as my son and I driving back home on the No.7B Mary Hill bypass highway we spotted a doe deciding if she was going to run cross the busy highway. Darn I hope she is safe and cause no accident. π€

White-tailed deer have a huge range, as they were very common where I grew up in New Jersey too. Your place is a sanctuary for forest critters, my friend, that's pretty awesome! πππβ¨π€
They know they are safe on our propertyππ

We haven't heard cougars lately, but years ago when I was laying in bed with the windows open I could hear a cougar screeching!!π
They sound like an old woman screaming it's rather eerie.......
Yikes! That would definitely make me jump out of bed fast! Sasquatches apparently have a similar high-pitched scream! πππβ¨π€
Maybe......... it was a Sasquatch my friend!!!π³π¬.............
