If winter came early up here this year, I habs w heard talk this feels like spring come early. The high today was 4 Celsius and I didn’t manage to take a picture before the fog lifted.
Out on my weekly street workout visiting maybe 65 business to deliver the news. Put in the country, Mater is awake but peeking over the plow glacier about the size of the one at the end of my driveway.
Downtown is looking all of that above freezing with the wet roads and piled snow melting into streams headed for the storm drains.
Only in Canada will you find someone walking in shorts in the middle of January just because it gets above freezing by a couple degrees.
From my perch upon the steps of city hall looming north, still a little snow but long shadows from the sun that finally decided to show up.
After all that wintery outdoor stuff, it was about time for some indoor golf. Brewmaster in full swing and perfect form.
The night wouldn’t be complete if not for a trip to the dog park with the little guy. This is what the path looked like with a flash.
Same place without the flash and some light correction / timelapse processing that comes automatically with the iPhone. Mild and nice night for a walk before bed. Not before 10k + steps which march me slowly to the vaulted top 250 actifit users of all time.
I take my Wednesday walks on Thursday and am preparing for a return to deep freeze winter next.

it's being more cold than usual here, it even snowed a little after 6-7 years so i can imagine at your place will snow a lot

It has been fun up here for sure. They say it snowed over 2x what it normally does in December and the snow squalls coming from Lake Huron seem to be hitting wave after wave and there are snow warnings on plenty of days.
I actually like it now that I am in a small town and don't travel too much but I am sure I will be very tired of it come the end of Feb.
Jeez all that snow is not gonna melt before April... If you had to move a lot, indeed annoying
That gentle tease of winter is oddly disorienting, especially in a place where January is supposed to bite back. :)
January always bites here ;) The typical late November tease turned into a full month of nonstop winter.

Wild isn't it? We were above freezing but barely. When I saw this guy, I was driving and had to illegally scramble for my phone as I knew someone in Hiveland would get a kick out of it. ;)

We also had snow in the past week. Just like you I had the idea that the winter was coming early. But after browsing through my photo album I did discover that we had snow on the past 2 year this early in the year. Probable that will be also the only snow we will get.
Really would love to have an indoor golf nearby. But we unfortunaltly we don't have that here.
Oh that is a shame! They are definitely one of the neatest parts about winter when you love summer so much. We go once per week for the fun and it helps us become maybe 1% less shitty at golf! ;)
This is what it looked like a week ago and I suspect it will be the same here in another week so stay tuned if you like snow....that someone else has to battle!
