April Showers and Spring Flowers

in Actifit24 days ago

Some flowers have popped up since my last street warrior report way up here in Canada. The last 2 weeks had a few days over 10k but there was too much going on for me to find the time or sobriety to post.

Last time, I think this scene might have had snow on it. Amazing how quickly the grass turns green after a long punishing winter.

There are known to be 2 seasons up here. Winter and construction. Looks like winter may finally be long gone and the crews are moving in.

I love the brave early flowers and hear their call that it is time to work on the garden. Not today though.

Mater’s fields in the country are even starting to green up. That tree didn’t survive the winter unscathed.

The sky downtown in the square looks half ominous and almost threatening to clear up.

Looking north off the steps of city hall, it still looks a little stark. A month or 2 and you will see beds overflowing with flowers and more visitors.

When it rains, time to head indoors for a round of golf!

The dog park is about as swampy as it ever gets with a week of solid rain.

The little guy still doesn’t seem to care and had the best day of the year again.

Taking this one to show you how soggy things are so I can remember that when it is dry and warm in the summer.

I did almost see the sun but they say April showers bring May flowers. After that winter, I am good with both.

Thanks for walking with me again on my unending quest to crack the top 250 @actifit users of all time.

The green grass and brave little flowers seem to make you appreciate the change of seasons ;)

Ya they are not the only ones! The dog park is a little quieter these days but the fairweather walkers will return when the water retreats.

they say April showers bring May flowers

Ya know what May flowers bring?

Pilgrims

Haha! I was wondering where you were going with that one.

Hopefully the pilgrims have weed.

Ah lovely flowers, we have those too

Lot of mud indeed, as if it's been raining for ages

Oh for sure. I call it the dog swamp right now and this wet phase seems to be dragging on like winter did.

Soon it will be summer and dry with the inevitable mosquitos. Worth it to be out of winter finally.

We got mosquitoes already...

There are known to be 2 seasons up here. Winter and construction.

Hahahaha... That makes me giggle... 😃 Btw, I think it's not up there at your place... I saw those two seasons everywhere... 😃

On the brighter side, it looks like I didn't check your walks for some time and the nature has changed a lot... You got out of the snow and jumped right in the muddy puddles... Oh, sorry, not you but your doggo... 😃 I suppose he was aware of the bath, which is inevitable after that run on the field... 😃

Ah thanks!

I blew it the last couple weeks having nailed at least 3 days with well over 10k on my adventures but didn't find the time to post! So I skipped a couple weeks but the change has been rather swift. Hopefully as swift toward a more dry period.

A reflection on my son's favorite cartoon when he was 4-5 yo... 😂

This is exactly the scene at the dog swamp these days.

If this picture isn’t evidence, my muddy boots in the front hallway are.

Send us some rain. It's so dry here (in Bohemia).

Haha we have PLENTY to spare! The garden in the back yard is under a foot of water and we have MORE rain in the forecast!

Spring, as it should be :-)

I suppose when you got home, the little guy was placed directly under the shower 😆

Nice tour by the way and I always love that car, but the flowers too.

Oh for sure. I let him into the back yard, fetch a towel and drag him immediately to the tub for a bath. Otherwise there would be muddy trails all over the floors.

Those are some great photos. Spring has finally sprung here in Minnesota but we're getting different seasons just about every day. We made it up to 81 a few days ago and now the "feels like" is 12. Spring will put your layering skills to the test!

I simply love this time of the year. There are few things in life as beautiful as seeing nature slowly awakening after a harsh winter.

The mud is a little challenging but definitely welcome after a long winter.

The real beauty to me is the sprouts of green bravely shooting up from the cool soggy ground.

It’s amazing to see the Canadian spring landscape changing so rapidly! It feels like only yesterday these scenes were covered in snow, yet the grass is already turning vibrant green.

The saying "Winter or Construction season" definitely rings true here. Even though the dog park has turned into a swamp and the construction crews are moving in, seeing your little one having the "best day ever" in the mud brought a big smile to my face. As they say, April showers bring May flowers—I hope you enjoy this damp transition while waiting for the full bloom next month! 😊 blooming soon!

Should definitely have some blooms to share in a month. The brave early ones are catching a little frost now and will hopefully make it through.
