There cherry tree pictured here has evolved a lot in the last couple month.
What was once a simple stick with a side branch has become a leafy umbrella of many branches.

The low branch has become quite beefy with various sub-branches extending out from it. I'm very pleased with lateral movement and tapered trunk design that has been developed.
Besides watering and fertilizing, the only maintenance I have done is pluck off the ends of some of the longer shoots to keep things small and tight. This strategy seems to be working well to make it into an ideal bonsai shape and size.
