I'm here again, because as you can see in the title I want to show you music videos that for me are pure art and the good kind.
Actualmente los videoclips son un tema muy común, creo que ninguno de nosotros puede decir que no se ha sentado a mirar y apreciar uno de estos contenidos audiovisuales y además mucho de nosotros hemos presenciado toda la evolución que ha traído consigo.
Nowadays video clips are a very common topic, I don't think any of us can say that we haven't sat down to watch and appreciate one of these audiovisual contents and also many of us have witnessed all the evolution it has brought with it.
But by 1920 it was not the case, in this decade a man named Oskar Fischinger began to create a series of images that were accompanied by background music and although this is considered as the beginning of the video clip, it was not until late 1950 that our beloved Elvis Presley starred in the so-called "first video clip in history" with his audiovisual created for the song "Jailhouse Rock". Everyone was impressed and delighted with this production and many rock bands joined this innovation. Queen was the first band to include special effects for a video with the famous song "Bohemian Rhapsody" and by 1980 they launched MTV, a program that would be dedicated exclusively to broadcasting music videos. This revolutionized the whole era because everyone wanted to be on MTV, plus it was an excellent way to promote themselves, but everything really exploded when Michael Jackson released his famous video of "Thriller" because this video was not like the others, but it was a whole story of 13 minutes, I think it was until then the longest video that existed.
Pero bueno, aunque la historia del videoclip es muy interesante, yo voy a mostrarles 4 videos increíbles que considero de los mejores que he visto a lo largo de mi vida, empecemos:
But well, although the history of the video clip is very interesting, I'm going to show you 4 incredible videos that I consider some of the best I've seen in my life, let's start:
1. YOU & ME – DISCLOSURE ft. FLUME
En esta canción se juntan dos grades de la electrónica: Disclosure y Flume. La letra habla básicamente de dos personas hechas la una para la otra, invencibles mientras estén juntos, serán “todo lo que alguna vez han soñado”. Pero el video es simplemente brutal y solo nos muestran a dos individuos besándose de la forma más apasionada, sí, es lo unico que nos muestra el video, pero es que transmite tanto y no se puede describir con palabras, solo ¡tienen que verlo!
This song brings together two electronic music greats: Disclosure and Flume. The lyrics basically talk about two people made for each other, invincible as long as they are together, they will be "everything you ever dreamed of". But the video is simply brutal and just shows us two individuals kissing in the most passionate way, yes, that's all the video shows us, but it conveys so much and it can't be described with words, you just have to see it!
2. PLEASURE - JUSTICE
Tanto la letra como el video son un poema y aunque parece que solo habla del acto sexual en su máxima expresión, y de usar la imaginación, dejarse llevar y acercarse de maneras en las que solo el cuerpo puede hacerlo, el video tiene un final un poco inesperado. Este video puede ser muy explícito, pero demasiado real y refleja lo hermoso de hacer el amor, de ese intercambio de energía tan profundo e intenso. Anímate a verlo hasta el final.
Both the lyrics and the video are a poem and although it seems to only talk about the sexual act in its maximum expression, and about using the imagination, letting go and getting close in ways that only the body can do, the video has a bit of an unexpected ending. The video may be very explicit, but it is all too real and reflects the beauty of lovemaking, of that deep and intense exchange of energy. Watch it all the way to the end.
3. ALL I WANT - KODALINE
Dejando de lado el erotismo, les traigo esta hermosa pieza, la letra trata sobre una ruptura inesperada y es muy emotiva, porque esta persona se muestra totalmente vulnerable y no puede aceptar que la persona que le cambió la vida y “sacó a relucir lo mejor de él” le está diciendo adiós. Pero el video es otro nivel y nos muestra a un joven que tiene una condición que lo hacer ver diferente al resto y todos sus compañeros del trabajo lo evitan y lo molestan mucho, hasta que la chica más guapa del lugar decide darse una oportunidad para conocerlo y se da cuenta de que es una persona increíble, así es chicos, lo más bello de una persona se encuentra en el interior. Además, este video, también nos muestra que su mejor amigo era su perro, cosa que me toca una fibra porque yo amo a los perros y sé muy bien que son el ser vivo más incondicional. Leaving eroticism aside, I bring you this beautiful piece, the lyrics are about an unexpected breakup and it is very emotional, because this person is totally vulnerable and cannot accept that the person who changed his life and "brought out the best in him" is saying goodbye. But the video is another level and shows us a young man who has a condition that makes him look different from the rest and all his coworkers avoid him and bother him a lot, until the prettiest girl in the place decides to give herself a chance to meet him and realizes that he is an amazing person, that's right guys, the most beautiful thing about a person is found inside. Besides, this video also shows us that his best friend was his dog, something that touches my heart because I love dogs and I know very well that they are the most unconditional living being. 4. OCEANS - SEAFRET
Esta canción es preciosa y pensé que se trataba de una relación de pareja, hasta que vi el video y pude comprender que muy probablemente fue escrita para una madre, si, ese ser que muchas veces nos hace sentir a salvo y cuando no está a nuestro lado nos podemos sentir vulnerables. Me emocioné mucho al ver a Massie Williams de protagonista porque quedé impactada con su actuación para GOT, solo que en este audiovisual, se mostraba indefensa. En el videoclip podemos ver a una chica que sufre de bullying en el colegio y al llegar a casa nota la usencia de su madre, esto la entristece, pero busca lo que parece un disfraz de superhéroe que usaba de niña y se lo pone para sentirse segura ¿o porque de verdad la vuelve invencible?.
This song is beautiful and I thought it was about a couple's relationship, until I saw the video and I could understand that it was most probably written for a mother, yes, that being that many times makes us feel safe and when she is not by our side we can feel vulnerable. I was very excited to see Massie Williams as the main character because I was impressed with her performance for GOT, only that in this audiovisual, she was helpless. In the video clip we can see a girl who suffers bullying at school and when she gets home she notices the absence of her mother, this saddens her, but she looks for what looks like a superhero costume she used to wear as a child and puts it on to feel safe, or because it really makes her invincible?
