Inspired by @stevenson7, I went on another trip back to my youth to give good young Stevenson ;-) a little lesson in modern music history, as I promised him.
Inspiriert von Stevenson7 habe ich mich wieder auf eine Reise in meine Jugend begeben, um dem guten Stevenson ein wenig Unterricht in moderner Musik Geschichte zu erteilen ;-)
What struck me once again is that those critical music bands and singers as we still knew them simply don't exist anymore! Or do I just not notice them? Gladly I can be taught better in the comments.
Was mir dabei einmal mehr auffiel ist, dass es diese kritischen Musikbands und Sänger, wie wir sie noch kannten einfach nicht mehr gibt! Oder nehme ich sie nur nicht wahr? Gerne lass ich mich in den Kommentaren eines Besseren belehren.

THE WALL was released in 1979. The movie for the album has always been too dark and creepy for me personally, but I liked the music.

All albums of Pink Floyd are not just songs strung together, but always a total work of art, in which it is worth the time to take it also listen to the whole.

SUPERTRAMP - School
Legendary and quite unique Supertramp, another band that was very successful with their overall compositions at the time, but unfortunately you hardly hear them anymore. Roger Hodgson, who you can hear in the following video with the song "School", left the band in 1983 to be active as a solo artist.
Legendäre und ziemlich einzigartige Supertramp, kine weitere Band, die mit ihren Gesamtkompositionen seinerzeit sehr erfolgreich war, die man aber heute leider kaum noch hört. Roger Hodgson, den ihr im folgenden Video mit dem Sond "School" hört, verließ die Band im Jahr 1983 um als Solokünstler aktiv zu sein.
"School", "Dreamer" and "The Logical Song" were my favorite songs for a long time and I still love to listen to them.
By the way, I recommend the legendary "Live in Paris" album!

The Third Tune!
This one captivated me so much when I heard it for the very first time that I can still remember it exactly. I must have been around 16 years old. In the living room on our television some music program ran, I did not pay attention at first so much to it.
Dieser hat mich so sehr in seinen Bann gezogen, als ich ihn zum allerersten mal gehört hatte, dass ich mich noch genau daran erinnern kann. Ich muss wohl um die 16 Jahre alt gewesen sein. Im Wohnzimmer auf unserem Fernseher lief irgendeine Musiksendung, ich achtete erst gar nicht so sehr darauf.
But these sounds grabbed me! What was that? I had never heard anything like it, the voice, the style, WHO was that? These thoughts went through my head when I heard the following song for the very first time:
Doch diese Klänge packten mich! Was war das? So etwas hatte ich noch nicht gehört, die Stimme, der Stil, WER war das? Diese Gedanken gingen mir durch den Kopf, als ich zum allerstenmal folgenden Song hörte:

In the meantime I've heard it 1000 times, it's been almost 40 years since then. I think, in present time you can't understand, that this was something very special for my ears.
Mittlerweile hab ich ihn bestimmt schon 1000 mal gehört, es sind seit damals ja auch fast 40 Jahre vergangen. Ich denke, in jetziger Zeit kann man nicht nachvollziehen, dass dies etwas ganz besonderes für meine Ohren war.
Was denkt ihr? Gibt es die Rebellen Musiker noch? Was ist aus all diesen Bewegungen geworden? Wie brav und angepasst wurden die Kinder dieser einst so heldenhaften Generation?

BEER.Das stimmt! Es gibt kein kritischer Musiker mehr.. die alle stehen Stumm. Echt Schade!! Ich mag Pink Floyd und U2. Aber Bono ist nicht mehr wie er war.
U2 fand ich früher wirklich gut, bevor mir klar wurde, was Bono für ein globalistischer und selbstverliebter Typ er ist. Danach konnte ich auch die Musik nicht mehr ernst nehmen. Schade eigentlich.

Well my only difficulty here was picking just one song!! Three great ones and a great spiel to go with each, which is always enjoyable.
Would ya look at how young Bono and the Edge look!! I have seen U2 live a few times, but the energy they had in the early days was very special.
Ya man, such a good point, you simply cannot listen to Pink Floyd songs in isolation and get the full immersion, they must be listened to in their entirety in the album that was meticulously planned out by the geniuses Roger, David and co..
