No, la verdad es que (aún) no soy fan de BTS. El K-pop nunca me había resultado especialmente atractivo. Pero a mi esposa sí, de modo que no hubiese podido escapar de este género aunque quisiera.
Pero no fue del todo malo, ya que aunque confirmé que en efecto no soy fan de su música, sí que existen unas cuantas que me resultaron muy divertidas y disfrutables.
Entre ellas está Butter.

No, the truth is that I'm not a fan of BTS (yet). K-pop has never been particularly appealing to me. But my wife did, so I couldn't have escaped this genre even if I wanted to.
But it wasn't all bad, because while I confirmed that I am indeed not a fan of their music, there are a few that I found very fun and enjoyable.
Among them is Butter.
Es imposible no pensar en Speed Demon de Michael Jackson y en Another One Bites the Dust de Queen al escuchar esta canción. Al menos a mí me pareció esto la primera vez que la escuché. Habrá uno que otro por ahí que se sienta ofendido por que yo haga esa comparación, pero vamos, que no hay que ser un experto en música para notarlo.
It is impossible not to think of Michael Jackson's Speed Demon and Queen's Another One Bites the Dust when listening to this song. At least that's what it sounded like to me the first time I heard it. There will be one or another out there who will be offended by me making that comparison, but come on, you don't have to be a music expert to notice it.
Vamos por el comienzo. La entrada la da un ritmo de batería, que de momentos me parecía que iban a cantar algo rock. Pero cuando entra el bajo, ya la cosa se torna más funky. Lo que va genial con su estilo de cantar, como bien marcado pero sin sonar demasiado seco.
Let's go to the beginning. The entrance is given by a drum rhythm, which at times seemed to me that they were going to sing something rock. But when the bass comes in, things get funkier. This goes great with their style of singing, as well-marked but without sounding too dry.
Luego tenemos la presencia de un sintetizador, que le da ese aire disco estilo ochentero. Y junto a un coro tan movido, a no ser que seas demasiado rígido con tus gustos, uno no puede evitar mover los hombros al ritmo de la música. Es divertido y bastante contagioso.
Then we have the presence of a synthesizer, which gives it that eighties disco feel. And along with such a moving chorus, unless you're too rigid with your tastes, one can't help but shake one's shoulders to the rhythm of the music. It's fun and quite contagious.
Como toda canción pop que se respete, tiene una Rap line. Que no le da ni le quita gloria, pero está bastante cool. Y que parece ser un mensaje lleno de cariño a todas sus seguidoras (ARMY), por lo que hay quien lo valore bastante.
Like any self-respecting pop song, it has a Rap line. Which neither adds nor detracts from its glory, but it's pretty cool. And it seems to be a message full of affection to all their followers (ARMY), so some value it quite a lot.
Por supuesto, no hay que dejar por fuera el nivel interpretativo de esta banda, que la verdad es que es bastante bueno también.(¡JA, TENGO UNA LISTA DE CANTANTES QUE SON SUPER MEJORES QUE ELLOS!) Ok… No se trata de eso. Estos chamos cantan muy bien, saben usar sus voces. Y un ejemplo de ello es ese melisma al final del primer verso de la segunda estrofa. Es de calidad y suena a mantequilla derretida jaja (Es un elogio, obvio)
Of course, let's not leave out this band's performance level, which is actually pretty good too. (HA, I HAVE A LIST OF SINGERS THAT ARE SUPER BETTER THAN THEM!) Ok... That's not the point. These guys sing very well, they know how to use their voices. And an example of that is that melisma at the end of the first line of the second verse. It's quality and sounds like melted butter haha (This is a compliment, obviously).
En definitiva es una gran canción. A mi me pone de muy buen humor y a veces me dan ganas de cocinar escuchandola jaja (No le digan a mi esposa)
All in all, it's a great song. It puts me in a very good mood and sometimes it makes me want to cook listening to it haha (Don't tell my wife).
