El orden suele ser: Veo un gran anime, este tiene un gran tema como opening o ending y luego me obsesiono con escribir sobre él. Pero aquí paso otra cosa. Esta canción la conocí en un top de j-pop, de la cual luego me entere de que era el ending de Vinland Saga, anime que estoy muy emocionado por ver, en vista de las buenas opiniones que ha generado.
Pero el resultado es el mismo. Toda buena canción merece que hablen de ella y a esta la encuentro tan genial que no me resistí en saltarme varias de los otros temas que tenía por reseñar para dedicarme a ella. Exceptuando por supuesto que no he visto el anime, por lo que no podré hacer ninguna analogía y me referiré únicamente a la canción.

The order is usually: I watch a great anime, it has a great theme as an opening or ending, and then I get obsessed with writing about it. But here something else happens. I came across this song in a j-pop top, which I later found out was the ending of Vinland Saga, an anime I'm very excited to see, given the good opinions it has generated.
But the result is the same. Every good song deserves to be talked about and I find this one so great that I couldn't resist skipping several of the other songs I had to review to dedicate myself to it. Except of course I haven't seen the anime, so I won't be able to make any analogies and will refer only to the song.
Ya esto lo he dicho antes, pero no está de más que lo repita para que todos lo tengamos claro. No hay forma de hacer traducciones literales del japones. Especialmente por el lío de como se interpretan determinados caracteres en diferentes contextos.
Pero si nos permitimos una aproximación (afortunadamente gran parte está en inglés), veremos que la protagonista le canta a una persona con la que posee una relación que esta a punto de romperse. Básicamente porque esta ha perdido todo el sentido y ya no es más que un espejismo.

La música hace un trabajo espectacular ambientando toda esta situación.
Si nos vemos, por ejemplo, en las estrofas nos encontraremos con una guitarra que marca un pulso persistente muy parecido al que se suele usar en la música techno, que conserva esa propiedad de ser una antesala para las secciones de mayor intensidad, pero que al ser un instrumento acústico le concede un color más indie.
El precoro es complementado con el rasgueo de una segunda guitarra que pone fin a esta sección con un silencio de los instrumentos y dejando a la voz continuar con el coro. El ritmo cambia a un neo soul de gran densidad al que se le agregan las cuerdas marcando el pulso, así como el piano y los coros complementando.
The music does a spectacular job setting the mood for this whole situation.
If we look, for example, at the verses we will find a guitar that marks a persistent pulse very similar to that usually used in techno music, which retains that property of being a prelude to the sections of greater intensity, but being an acoustic instrument gives it a more indie color.
The pre-chorus is complemented by the strumming of a second guitar that ends this section with a silence of the instruments and leaving the voice to continue with the chorus. The rhythm changes to a dense neo-soul with the strings setting the pulse, as well as the piano and backing vocals complementing it.

There are also a couple of production details that I quite liked, such as the inclusion of a drum roll at the entrance of the second chorus and the distortion of the voice in the last chorus emulating an electric guitar.
It's sad, it's nostalgic, it's... Great! I will definitely watch that anime :D
