Tomorrow it will be a week that we've arrived for our second round in Spain, we left early last Sunday, and we all aclimated back to the local air, even the cat!
I am really getting used to drive long hours now, I even get 2 liters of cofee ready, so we don't have to stop too many times.
This week I've recorded this cover of a song by Nao called Lifetime, she is an emerging Soul artist from the UK, and I really dig her style.
Some very poignant lyrics, and I bet none of you is familiar with the original, so here it is.
Her voice, either you're going to love it or hate it, I think she is very interesting. I've just listened to it again, and it made me regret covering it hahaha. Really great voice, to my taste...

I've been practicing this one since 2019, I was listening to it once a day when working at a "Uber-like" company.
This was my morning ritual arriving in front of my computer. Playing the song once, getting a coffee, catching up with the emails that arrived during the night.
I was always singing at work. I remember once someone asked me "please Ed, can you stop singing, you are bothering everyone".
Me: 🖕
Needless to say, this job didn't last for long, I was a terrible employee. I was barefoot all the time, and singing.
For any future employer, you shouldn't hire me. I am not a team player, I don't care about the job you gave me, and I'll just do enough to make sure I don't get fired. A true nightmare.
A corporate environment for me, is like hell on earth. This is why I am so much into conflits and self sabotage.
I actually truly enjoy watching chaos unfold in front of my eyes, this what makes me a dangerous enemy at work.
Funny enough, you put me behind a guitar and on stage, then it's like heaven on earth for me, and I am always professional, on time, humble.
I am really at peace with this notion now, it simplifies my existence, it doesn't mean there isn't room for growth, and I am still a "teamplayer" in life, with the ones I love, but I've promised myself that I will never do a job just to meet ends no more, because you can easily poison your own well if you understand that metaphor.
So instead of being useless in within a foreign environment, I prefer being useful to people that deserve my full attention, the reward might not be the instant gratification you get from a paycheck, but it's more of a long term gameplay.
Funny now, my son is humming and singing constantly, he was even doing it in class when he was still in public school.
It's easier now that we are homeschooling him, he can hum while his microphone is muted, nobody knows...
I would be a hypocrite if I start trying to correct his humming, I know why he does that, because I do the same.
It helps with concentration, it's almost like a mantra, that helps you focus.
Plus, he really has a beautiful voice, my son...A future singer 😉
I really like your publications because you always give much more than your musical talent, you fill it with photos and very meaningful words, they are not just a few lines and come to bring a cover, is to put heart to what you do and I thank you for doing that!
I really liked your cover, the changes in your voice and the melismas, plus the guitar with those opotunous strumming sounds great with your voice. And the ending was very funny and different :)

Lol, I love your honesty, not many places will hire barefooted employees who re singing all the time, best to just work for yourself, that's the best. Mind you if I was looking for a worker, I'd employ you, we could be barefoot and singing together.
