Para quienes no lo conocen, es un importante cantautor argentino nacido el año 1947, su familia paterna es de origen francés, mientras que su abuela materna venía de la etnia capayán, de un pueblo indígena actualmente extinto.
El año 1967 ganó el premio Revelación Juvenil en el famoso Festival Nacional de de Cosquín (Argentina) , en el 1972 representó a su país en el Festival OTI y de ahí en adelante su carrera como un gran cantautor lo llevó a alternar y a grabar junto a los más grandes y principales artistas de la música latinoamericana e hispana.
Mercedes Sosa, Joan Manuel Serrat, León Gieco, Milton Nascimento, Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés, son algunos de ellos.
Tiene unas 40 producciones discográficas y algunas de sus canciones más conocidas son Razón de vivir, Todavía cantamos, Sobreviviendo, Bailando con tu sombra y la canción que hoy les presento.
Heredia es uno de los tantos artistas argentinos que tuvo que padecer la censura impuesta por la dictadura militar en Argentina a partir del año 1976, ese mismo año su hermana junto a su esposo fueron secuestrados y hasta la fecha permanecen desaparecidos, y a partir de ese momento se ha mantenido vinculado a los distintos grupos defensores de los derechos humanos en su país.
Hoy en día se le considera uno de los más importantes representantes de la música popular latinoamericana.
