I love this song because it transmits an incredible peace to me, in addition to the explosiveness that leads to climax, it is an impressive sensation.

I would like to talk a little about the career of this fabulous group

Historia de Coldplay / Coldplay History

[ESP]

En el año 2002 lanzaron A Rush Of Blood To The Head, su segundo LP.

Coldplay escribió sencillos brillantes como In My Place, Clocks o The Scientist. En este disco aparecen temas como Speed Of Sound, Square One o What If.

After a while they were persuaded to change their name, eventually adopting the name Coldplay. On a weekend in Virginia Water, Martin met Tim Rice-Oxley, and realized his great talent on the piano, so he asked him to be the keyboardist for Coldplay, but he refused because he already had his own band. , Keane. They continued in search of a member for the piano. In 1998, the band released five hundred copies of the EP Safety. Of these five hundred the vast majority were given to record companies, friends and family.

Coldplay signed a recording contract with the independent company Fierce Panda. They released EP Brothers & Sisters; recorded in just four days, and released in February 1999. After a while the band signed a five-album contract with Parlophone. At that time they made their first appearance at Glastonbury, and then returned to the studio, to record an EP entitled The Blue Room. Five thousand copies were released, and the single "Bigger Stronger" was broadcast on the BBC. During that time, the atmosphere at Coldplay was tense: Martin expelled Champion from the band.

Little by little, the group was able to smooth over the rough edges and decided to establish a regulation for coexistence. Based on bands like U2 and R.E.M., Coldplay opted for democracy, agreeing to fairness on several issues, one of them payoffs. Additionally, they agreed that they would expel any member who used drugs. After that, they began to work hard in the studio, they recorded their debut album at Rockfield Studios with the collaboration of Ken Nelson.

They were opening act on the Carling Tour. The members then went on their first tour, which included a performance at the Glastonbury Festival. Soon after, his famous single "Yellow" was released, reaching number four and on radio stations in the United States and England for several weeks, allowing Coldplay to enter popular culture. Parachutes was at the top of the English sales charts. The album was nominated for the Mercury Awards in September 2000.

Motivated by the success in Europe, the band decided to broaden their horizons in the United States, releasing Parachutes. Although it was not a success, the album went double platinum. Subsequently, it won the Grammy for Best Alternative Rock Album in 2002. From this moment Coldplay was shown as a band that did not go unnoticed in rock history. The style of this group quickly fell in love, attracted the senses of many young rockers of the moment. We are really facing one of the most notorious British groups of the early 21st century, a band with influences from Radiohead to Jeff Buckley, The Verve, Pink Floyd, Oasis, Belle & Sebastian, U2, Dave Matthews Band, Neil Young, The Beatles or Travis.

One of the reasons why the band was questioned on several occasions has to do with the repetition and few variations in their albums, resting on the creation and vocal emotion of their singer. They undertook a tour of North America, but unfortunately it had to be canceled due to Chris Martin's health problems. In 2002 they released A Rush Of Blood To The Head, their second LP. This work demonstrated its variation in textures, maintaining its melodic beauty, intimate texts and sophistication without excess.

Coldplay wrote brilliant singles like In My Place, Clocks or The Scientist. Martin was in the sights of celebrity magazines when he started a love affair with the famous actress Gwyneth Paltrow, whom he married in December 2003. Two years later, his third album, X&Y, was released, co-produced. by the group, Danton Supple and Ken Nelson. In this disc appear subjects like Speed Of Sound, Square One or What If.

Coldplay has managed to sustain itself over the years. In 2008 they released his famous album: Viva la Vida or Death and All of His Friends, an album produced by Brian Eno. The most famous songs are: Cemeteries of London, Lost or Yes. With Eno they reunited to run the production of Mylo Xyloto (2011). Recently the band has released the following LPs Ghost Stories (2014), A Head Full Of Dreams (2015), Kaleidoscope (2017).

Letra - Lyric

In My Place, In My Place
Were lines that I couldn't change
I was lost, oh yeah
I was lost, I was lost
Crossed lines I shouldn't have crossed
I was lost, oh yeah
Yeah
How long must you wait for it?
Yeah
How long must you pay for it?
Yeah
How long must you wait for it?
Oh, for it
I was scared, I was scared
Tired and under prepared
But I'll wait for it
If you go, if you go
Leave me down here on my own
Then I'll wait for you (yeah)
Yeah
How long must you wait for it?
Yeah
How long must you pay for it?
Yeah
How long must you wait for it?
Oh, for it?
Singing please, please, please
Come back and sing to me
To me, me
Come on and sing it out
Now, now
Come on and sing it out
To me, me
Come back and sing
In My Place, In My Place
Were lines that I couldn't change
And I was lost, oh yeah
Oh yeah
