Hello #Hive community!
Today I am not going to bring you a record but rather a playlist I have created that traces the evolution of #music related to the topic #Cannabis. This substance has had a great influence on musical history, not only from a creative point of view but also from a cultural one.
The phenomenon of Cannabis and the beginning of its penalization have in fact originated in the blues environment of New Orleans, where musicians and the Afro-American community in general used to make use of this substance and even sing its praises (in fact we find songs dedicated to Cannabis among the songs of Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald etc.).
From here it has expanded over time to all movements that approached this cultural and musical reality, starting with Bob Dylan (a great supporter of Cannabis) and the subsequent movements of the 70s, and it was from him that the Beatles became aware of it (just think that Sir. Paul McCartney was arrested for possession of Hashish during the Beatles tour in Japan).
In the meantime from #Jamaica came the #reggae and its philosophy strictly linked to this plant, bringing us great artists such as Bob Marley, Lee Scratch Perry, Max Romeo, Peter Tosh etc. From these solid bases the artists interested in supporting the subject have multiplied and we can find traces of Cannabis in every musical environment.

Oggi non vi porporrò un disco ma bensì una playlist da me creata che ripercorre l'evoluzione della #musica correlata all'argomento Cannabis. Questa sostanza ha avuto una grande influenza sulla storia musicale, non solo dal punto di vista creativo ma anche culturale.
Il fenomeno della Cannabis e l'inizio della sua penalizzazione hanno infatti origine nell'ambiente blues di New Orleans, dove i musicisti e la comunità afro americana in generale erano soliti fare uso di questa sostanza e cantarne anche le lodi (troviamo infatti brani dedicati alla Cannabis tra le canzoni di Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald etc.).
Da qui si è espansa nel tempo a tutti i movimenti che si avvicinavano a questa realtà culturale e musicale, a partire da Bob Dylan (grande sostenitore della Cannabis) e i conseguenti movimenti degli anni '70, e proprio da lui ne vennero a conoscenza anche i Beatles (pensiamo solo che Sir. Paul McCartney venne arrestato per possesso di Hashish durante il tour dei Beatles in Giappone).
Nel frattempo dalla Jamaica giungeva il reggae e la sua filosofia strettamente legata a questa pianta, portandoci grandi artisti come Bob Marley, Lee Scratch Perry, Max Romeo, Peter Tosh etc. Da queste solide basi si sono poi moltiplicati gli artisti interessati a sostenere l'argomento e possiamo trovare tracce di Cannabis in ogni ambiente musicale.
