Hello friends, good vibes to all.
A few days ago the music world received a news that certainly shook the whole scene and is that the legendary Swedish band announced a new album along with a virtual concert, all this after four decades of being separated. ABBA officially separated in 1982 but the mark they left in many people and fans is very big, as an example my person that despite being born in 85 I consider myself a great follower of their music.
With this quartet I feel that two things happen, either you like their music or you don't, but medium tints with them don't apply. In my case I think that ABBA is one of the greatest groups in the contemporary history of music and therefore the influence they have on many people is great, besides the fact that many of their songs have been a resounding success, it is not that they managed to hit 2 or 3 of them.
The thing is that they are back and they do it with an album called "ABBA Voyage" which will be released to the public for the month of November accompanied by a series of very particular concerts in which the same members with virtual avatars will perform the hits that marked an era. At the beginning nothing seemed very clear since the original idea was to record a couple of songs but at the end of the story they ended up making an album with ten songs along with a mega remote show.
Already today we know some of the songs of this new album that will be released in 2 months, one of them is called "I Still Have Faith in You" which is a kind of ballad entirely to piano that reflects the relationship and the bond that exists, even today and after almost 40 years, between the members of the musical group.
Talking about a reunion of ABBA a couple of months ago was something unthinkable because there was already a history of wanting to do it but for various reasons had not been able to materialize, in fact there are many rumors that say that the quartet rejected 21 years ago, in 2000, an offer of BILLIONS of dollars to make a tour. Agnetha, one of the members of the group, once said that she wanted to leave ABBA in the past because too much time had passed and they all had different lives and goals.
In fact this new reunion is not something that happened a couple of weeks ago, this is something that had been "cooking" for at least 3 years when they went to Benny's recording studio, another of the members, to record a couple of things. Without realizing it, they started having so much fun and so much fun that maybe because of nostalgia they decided that what they were doing in the studio they had to share it with all their fans around the world.
- Don't Shut Me Down.
Another of the songs from this new album is this one I share with you, Don't Shut Me Down, which is very much in line with what ABBA is and its sound so characteristic of previous years.
Talking a little about the concert they will offer what is known is that it will be next year, 2022 and it will be in a stadium that will be built especially for this in the city of London. As I mentioned before, it will be in a virtual way by the hand of the "Abba-tars" which were made and designed by the special effects company of George Lucas, the mastermind of Star Wars. With this we can get an idea of the caliber of quality that this will be.
The main idea is the use of technology to capture the movement and thus be able to scan all the steps and gestures of the four members, who are about 70 years old on average. They get on a stage which has about 150 cameras and for a month and a half they were playing and performing the whole concert with impeccable perfection so when it is seen at the time it will be an exact copy of them, it will actually be them.
At the moment this show will be only in London but there is a possibility that it will spread and be played in other parts of the world which would be really cool.
ABBA and I personally like them very much and the fact that at this point in their life they have come together to do one last thing is something to be thankful for, because one could expect an album but a concert as well? - That's something that I'm sure nobody saw coming. Let's hope that this new album will have some quality and make us remember that good and golden time of ABBA.
As always in these cases, I leave you some of my favorite songs of this Swedish quartet:
- Lay All Your Love On Me.
- Take A Chance On Me.
- Voulez-Vous.
There are many more but I think these three are the ones that catch my attention without being as commercial as MAMMA MIA or DANCING QUEEN.
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.
¡A hug to all of you, we'll hear you in the next one!

Take a Chance on Me is a song from my childhood - I have a memory of that one broadcast on an AM station received by my mom's alarm clock radio.
Is one of the best songs, no doubt!
Excelente! Saludos!
Gracias!
Excelente post!
