La historia del tema comenzó en 2016, cuando Fonsi quiso seguir el camino de Enrique Iglesias y probar suerte en la música urbana. Luego del final de la segunda temporada de The Voice Chile, el cantante se fue a su casa en Miami donde comenzó a trabajar en el tema junto Erika Ender, Gabriel Garcia y Daddy Yankee.
