Music Monday | Pional-When love hurts

Summer vibes, summer tunes and everything in between is here! The whitsunday extended weekend (pentecost as they say it in other countries) is really having some good vibes in there as the weekend went into full on summer mode all of a sudden.

Summer vibes brings summer tunes and Pional are the good classics to go with that in with some music playing here and there somewhere. The thnig with summer tunes is that you don't have to listen to them with full attention, but is needs to be a decent swing in the background.

Coming from the 'When Love Hurts' album, all of these Pional songs (Pional is a solo project from Miguel Barros) feel like they should be played at sunset time when the vibe is already changing a bit more. All of the songs of the album have a bit of mineur vibe to them and they all have some sadness in there but still in a total uplifting way.

Somewhere haflway the song chaos comes a bit in there and that is when that would not a a perfect moment to play this in a crowd, but more at home or over the ears. But this does fit the song perfectly!

The way you like

I like these vocal in the 'The way you like' song even though nornmally vocals are not my favourite at all. The vocals feel hurting and they really tip the general vibe on this entire album.

Als not the most easy song to digest, but listening to this while being on the bike when the day is almost over. That is when the moment when it feels perfect, when nature is around and the colour of the sky is starting to change. That is the perfect moment for listening to this. Getting carried away here for a bit right?

Casualty

So apparently Pional has been around working the decks already since 2010. He did a lot of collaborations with John Talabot who I saw at the 'Awakenings' festival last year and is also a really awesome artist. These collabs are something I need to look into over the next couple of weeks in the sun.

Back to 'Casualty'. Have you taken a look at the lyrics already on this one? It seems like a promo song for heading over to some sort of secret party. Heading over to the next verse it feels more like someone is taking too much of some chemicals at a festival and heading out with an ambulance...hmmmm

But when not listening to it that closely, it just feels like a chill session and that is what the summer vibes enhance.

Mental not for the next couple of weeks. Listen to more of the older work and see what is going on there. This summer will be gooood!
