Good evening community, today I would like you to join me to enjoy some good songs that have been covered by famous artists and musical groups, all musical genres including Jazz, Rock, Ballads and Disco Music are susceptible to be covered, then I present a small sample of the commented:

Ella Fitzgerald - Sunshine of Your Love. Original by Cream.

In 1969 Ella Fitzgerald presents an album called Sunshine of Your Love, which was recorded live at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Among the songs it contains is a version of the Beatles' song (Hey Jude), and another by the group Cream (Sunshine of Your Love), which gives the album its name. It is an impressive album that takes compositions by John Lennon, Eric Clapton and Antonio Carlos Jobim, along with classics from the Big Band era such as Give Me The Simple Life.

After hearing the song on the album and seeing this performance it is easy to know why she was called the first lady of the song, excellent, incomparable, exceptional, sublime, the adjectives fall short.

The Beatles - Bésame Mucho. Original by Consuelo Velásquez.

In 1932, Consuelo Velásquez wrote a song entitled Bésame Mucho, one of the most covered Latin American songs in history, which expresses a certain fear of the future and insecurity in love.

In an audition for Decca Records in 1962 the Beatles presented this song and were rejected by the record company.

Johnny Cash- Hurt. Original by Nine Inch Nails.

In November 1992 is released the last album in life of Johnny Cash: American IV: The Man Comes Around, which was released on November 5, 2002. With a version of Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel and Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode.

But the track that stands out above all is Nine Inch Nails' Hurt. He initially refused to play it, but did so at the insistence of his producer Rick Rubin. It's a song with a voice that is scratched due to a degenerative disease, but that transmits a strong emotional charge.

This song was accompanied by a video made by Mark Romanek, (the same who directed the video Scream by Michael and Janeth Jackson, considered the most expensive in the world). The original author of the song Trent Reznor when he saw the video cried and assumed that the song no longer belonged to him but to Cash.

A twilight song, a song interpreted with feeling that by the way was used in the soundtrack of the movie Logan, (Wolverine's farewell to the X-Men).

Miley Cirus - Nothing Else Matters. original by Metallica.

In August 2021 Metallica's recording The Black Album turned 30 years old, being released for the months of September and October a remastered edition accompanied by some complementary cover recordings titled The Metallica Blacklist.

The Metallica Blacklist features 53 covers performed by artists as diverse as Juanes, Weezer, Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode vocalist), Corey Taylor (Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist), J Balvin, Ha*Ash, Phoebe Bridgers, Mon Laferte, Miley Cirus, My Morning Jacket, Mac DeMarco, Cage the Elephant, Kamasi Washington, Portugal the Man, IDLES, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Moses Sumney, The Hu, and others.

Within this compilation of covers stands out the version of Nothing Else Matters, in which she is accompanied by Elton John, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo. I don't really like Miley Cirus' style, but after watching this video I'm reconsidering listening to her music a bit more.

Foo Fighters/The Dee Gees- You Should Be Dancing /Shadow Dancing. Original by The Bee Gees.

In the month of July 2021, the excellent rock band Foo Fighters releases their album Hail Satin, which includes 4 songs by the Bee Gees : You Should Be Dancing, Night Fever, Tragedy , More Than A Woman, and Shadow Dancing (by Andy Gibb), performed by their alter ego The Dee Gees.

This group has covered songs by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney and Wings, Arcade Fire, Elton John, Led Zeppelin and Queen among others in concerts, radio and television presentations and albums.

Some of these songs surpass the original and others demonstrate the versatility of some artists that we never thought we could see and hear once.

Buenas noches comunidad, hoy quisiera que me acompañaran a disfrutar de algunas buenas canciones que han sido versionadas por famosos artistas y grupos musicales, todos los géneros musicales incluyendo Jazz, Rock, Baladas y Disco Music son susceptibles a ser versionados, a continuación les presento una pequeña muestra de lo comentado:

En el año de 1969 Ella Fitzgerald presenta un álbum llamado Sunshine of Your Love, el cual se grabó en vivo en el Hotel Fairmont en la ciudad de San Francisco. Despues de oir la canción del álbum y ver esta actuación es fácil saber porque la llamaban la primera dama de la canción, excelente, inigualable, excepcional, sublime, los calificativos quedan cortos.

Consuelo Velásquez escribe en el año 1932 una canción titulada Bésame Mucho una de las canciones latinoamericanas más versionadas en la historia que expresa cierto temor al futuro y la inseguridad en el amor.

Pero el tema que destaca sobre todos es Hurt de Nine Inch Nails. En un principio se negó a tocarla, pero lo hizo por insistencia de su productor Rick Rubin. Es un tema con una voz rasgada por causas de una enfermedad degenerativa, pero que transmite una fuerte carga emocional.

Este tema vino acompañado de un video realizado por Mark Romanek , (el mismo que dirigió el video Scream de Michael y Janeth Jackson considerado el más caro del mundo). El autor original del tema Trent Reznor al ver el video lloro y asumió que esa canción ya no le pertenecía a él si no a Cash.
