Three Tune Tuesday Week 62 - Expressive.

in Music2 years ago

It's @ablaze's day again (yes, that's what I want to be calling it from now on, hahahaha) so it's TTT day too. It's funny how I always look forward to Tuesdays now because of the opportunity to explore and share with others the songs I've come to love and the reasons behind them. I love going down memory lane because there were beautiful memories down the line that made up my childhood.

Music is powerful, it has the opportunity to heal and to give a better perspective. Many people have used it to show their intention, speak of love, and share their struggles and most people have used it to explain their side of a story so the audience can have a better understanding which might have gotten lost during a media interview. Songs are powerful and it's a tool that expresses pain, love, and hurt and explain the narrative. Music cuts across every aspect of life. Music is so beautiful and that's why you hear the birds chirp, the trees clap their hands and the oceans give such a magnificent tune with the waves. Even the rain paints a beautiful colour of music...isn't that fascinating?

I would be sharing diverse music from Akon for my TTT today, ranging from the one about love and the one which he used to explain his side of the story based on the event in his life.

The first song for today's TTT is:

Artist: "Akon"
Title of Song: "Don't Matter"

I know this song from A to Z when I was little and I would easily rap it to feel as though we wrote the song together 🤣🤣😂🤣. Akon's songs were so big back then especially when he released "Lonely". Everyone would be blasting it loudly with every chance they get and you just have to love Akon songs back then. "Don't Matter" was recorded in 2006 and released in 2007. What do you expect when you have a fusion of Bob Marley and R. Kelly on a song? It is a powerful song that was written by these people and it came out to be a masterpiece.

This song speaks about the love a guy has for a lady despite so many oppositions. A lot of people don't want them together but he said it doesn't matter as long as he still has her. Love is a personal affair and it doesn't matter what others think as long as it's genuine, you would want to hear the critics speak over the applause because it's a private party between two people and no one else matters. A lot of people have allowed themselves to fall out of love because of what others think or would think. They are people pleasers and would rather lose their happiness than lose the approval of others which is wrong.

The song speaks about how mistakes happen but your heart still tells you with whom you belong. It also speaks of how others would go to any length to ruin what's going good for others just because they can. Love sees beyond all that... Love isn't blind, it sees but chooses to ignore, but of course, it should not be about things that demoralize or brings another partner down. He also spoke about his flaws of putting other ladies ahead of her even though his heart beats for her. He is quick to apologize but personal I think it shouldn't just be about apology alone but about doing what's right to make her feel special. She should always take the center stage and be that only one lady.

Akon did so well with this song and I enjoyed the reggae beat, the tune of the song and the lyrics as well. My favourite part of the lyrics is still this:

"Nobody wanta' see us together
But it don't matter, no ('cause I got you, babe)
Nobody wanta' see us together
But it don't matter, no ('cause I got you, babe)
'Cause we gonna fight, oh yes, we gonna fight (we gonna fight)
Believe we gonna fight (we gonna fight)
Fight for our right to love, yeah (right to love, yeah)
Nobody wants to see us together
But it don't matter, no ('cause I got you)"

The second song for today is:

Artist: "Akon"
Title of Song: "Sorry, Blame It On Me"

There is a reason why I love this song so much and I sang it with my heart back then as though we wrote the song together. I would never support what Akon did, never because having engagement with underage is a no-no but it's about the attitude he had after it. This song speaks about taking responsibility for one's actions after he was accused of being with a minor. He took responsibility and apologized to everyone; his mother, his girl and son, his fans and of course the girl in question. He spoke about his struggles while growing up and all he made his mother go through. He apologized for his part in how everything turned out.

He also assumed responsibility for others. He spoke about how others failed to take responsibility for their actions, especially the girl's father and how the father allowed her to be out. He spoke about how the club in question also failed to take responsibility for allowing a girl that was underage to be inside the club that is meant for 21 years and above. He claimed he didn't know but with the law, ignorance is never an excuse. He took responsibility and for those who didn't take responsibility and kept pointing fingers at him still, he said for the sake of the fans, he took the blame.

For some weird and unexplainable reasons, anytime I see this part of the lyrics, my eyes are filled with tears and I can't explain it...

"Even though the blame's on you
Even though the blame's on you
Even though the blame's on you
I'll take that blame from you
And you can put that blame on me"

He admit his imperfections and genuinely apologized for those he let down in the process.

The last song I will be sharing today is:

Artist: "Akon"
Title of Song: "Right Now"

Akon spoke of himself as a lover boy here. A relationship is full of drama and no one is perfect. This song speaks of how imperfect he is and his ex-girlfriend too. After having clarity on how they didn't handle the situation so well, he missed the moments they had together and he wish for them to be together right there. There are so many regrets we have in the hindsight and this is what happened to Akon in this song with his ex-girlfriend as well...thinking of how they could have done things better and they would have still been together right now.

That's all for TTT guys. I hope you enjoyed these amazing songs.

The videos and the lyrics belongs to the artist and I make no claim to these.

Thank you for your time.

Beautiful. I listen to music Less now as I'm out in nature listening to those rhythms instead.

But still, it's nature for me to put on tunes and lose myself in them too!!

Your review is excellent. I've heard this guy on the radio before but never listened to really hear what he was talking about. The second clip was great as it really set the scene for what he was singing about. Men taking responsibility? Well I never, haha.

😂😂🤣😂😂🤣 I can imagine your shock at the men taking responsibility part. I think sometimes it's not gender specific but human specific. It depends on the person but I know, men's ego gets in the way and we want to sweep things under the rug.

Yes, nature gives the best sound and nature is a natural healer. I love being close to nature.

Yes, he is a wonderful singer and I like selected songs of his.

Thank you so much 🤗🤗🤗 and I am so happy to have you here 🥰🥰❣️❣️🤩😍🤩🤩

Oh you are right, it's not always gender specific, but I guess traditionally men have their pride and need to show strength, which doesn't lend well to apology.

I absolutely agree with that. That pride...that ego from us always get in the way. We need to do better.

The first song... I remembered I sang it so much even though I didn't know the lyrics then. These songs brought back memories as I kept remembering those moments we listened to it.
You selected amazing songs this week.

Absolutely... That song made my childhood fun and I am glad you can relate to it too. Lovely songs. Thanks KP.

Yoo man, I'm impressed, no.... impressed seems to be a lesser word.
guy, I'm amazed at the way you explain what music is and what it can do. music is really a powerful weapon just as you have illustrated and I also love being part of this family too.

the don't matter of song of Akon is a song I really like a lot but I really don't know the lyrics.... but as a young guy that I was then, I used to chew my mouth... hehehe.

you have inspired me.. and once I'm done with engaging in the next few hours, it'll also share with you all my TTT

🤣🤣😂😂😂 you are not alone. Most of the time then, we used to mouth a lot of songs then before we get to understand them. I search for their lyrics, print them out and sing along.

Thank you so much and I am glad you enjoyed my recommendations for the week. Look forward to yours.

I have dropped mine pal.
I really enjoyed it sincerely and it's nice visiting your post😂❤️❤️

Just checked it out. Nice fusion.

Ah Akon. These songs were my jam then. I don't want to sound too old 😂. You explained this so well.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂 you will surely feel old with that song. I can relate.

I wish to roll back the years sometimes 🤣😂

I should write a poem on this tomorrow.

Have you? I will check.

Yes, I have.

Ha ha, that's got a ring to it :)

Ya, I normally head on down memory lane too and most of my shares are from bands in the 80s and 90s.

Well said man and very eloquently put too, thanks for brining us these Akon songs this week, I was never into him, but I can see why you liked him, he's got a good sound and lyrics.

Thank you so much sir. Yes, I like his beat, lyrics and the delivery of his songs. He has this smooth effect which I like about him.
