Mi quinta presentación: Loco/My fifth performance: Crazy

En esta ocasión, retomo mi contenido musical para contarles cómo fue mi "debut" como intérprete.

¿Por qué digo esto, si ya tenía cuatro conciertos como estudiante de la escuela de música? Porque en esta ocasión me presenté en solitario como artista invitado en el Teatro Municipal de Caracas, todo en el marco del aniversario del trabajo de mis padres, que dicho sea de paso, en esa ocasión mi mamá fue galardonada ese día por haber cumplido 35 años de servicio en la institución.

Aunque estaba nervioso porque ese teatro es uno de los más importantes de mi país de origen ¿Cómo decir que no si mi mamá sería premiada y no todo el tiempo te dan la oportunidad de cantar en el Teatro Municipal? Dije que sí sin pensarlo mucho...

On this occasion, I return to my musical content to tell you about my "debut" as a performer.
Why do I say this, if I already had four concerts as a music school student? Because on this occasion I appeared alone as a guest artist at the Municipal Theater of Caracas, all within the framework of the anniversary of my parents' work, which by the way, on that occasion my mother was awarded that day for having turned 35 years old of service in the institution.
Although I was nervous because that theater is one of the most important in my country of origin. How can I say no if my mother would be awarded and not all the time they give you the opportunity to sing at the Municipal Theater? I said yes without much thought ...

Tengo varios videos de otras presentaciones hechas tiempo antes de esta pero en ellas me estaba presentando como parte de la cátedra de canto del conservatorio. Aquí, ya estaba presentándome como solista y artista. Aunque todavía estudiaba, a partir de este momento comencé a presentarme fuera del conservatorio.

Nunca antes había cantado rancheras, pero nuevamente hice caso a las sugerencias de mis padres. Ellos habían escuchado la canción "Loco" de Alejandro Fernández e inmediatamente me sugirieron que la cantara. La letra me pareció maravillosa y el reto de cantar rancheras me atrajo inmediatamente.

La canción formó parte del disco "Mi verdad" de Fernández, que salió al mercado en el año 1999. La canción fue un gran éxito para él, de hecho, era el sencillo promocional del disco. El autor de esta obra es el compositor mexicano Jorge Massías.

Ese día, cuando terminé de cantar (canté cuatro canciones más además de la ranchera, pero no quedaron grabadas) la gente se levantó a aplaudirme. La ovación duró bastante y sinceramente, fue increíble. Casi lloro de alegría delante de la gente: Siempre había soñado cantar en el teatro municipal como solista.

Algún día voy a repetir la experiencia, pero esta vez, será con un concierto, acompañado de mi banda y la orquesta sinfónica municipal. Para ello estoy trabajando arduamente... ¡Y lo voy a lograr!

I have several videos of other presentations made long before this one, but in them I was presenting myself as part of the singing chair at the conservatory. Here, I was already performing as a soloist and artist. Although I was still studying, from this moment on I began to perform outside the conservatory.
I had never sung rancheras before, but again I listened to my parents' suggestions. They had heard the song "Loco" by Alejandro Fernández and immediately suggested that I sing it. I found the lyrics wonderful and the challenge of singing rancheras immediately appealed to me.
The song was part of Fernández's "My Truth" album, which was released in 1999. The song was a great success for him, in fact, it was the album's promotional single. The author of this work is the Mexican composer Jorge Massías.
That day, when I finished singing (I sang four more songs in addition to the ranchera, but they were not recorded) people got up to applaud me. The standing ovation lasted quite a bit and honestly, it was amazing. I almost cried with joy in front of the people: I had always dreamed of singing in the municipal theater as a soloist.
Someday I will repeat the experience, but this time, it will be with a concert, accompanied by my band and the municipal symphony orchestra. For this I am working hard ... And I am going to achieve it!
