Three Tune Tuesday - A Trip Around The World

in Musiclast year

Here are a few of my favorite musicians from around the world for this #threetunetuesday by @ablaze

The first two are Efren Lopez ans Stelios Petrakis from Crete and Spain. They have quite a few different musical projects and Stelios Petrakis actually builds instruments. Efren Lopez plays a bunch of different instruments ranging from hurdy gurdy to baglama saz, oud and all sorts of hand drums.

Tye next group is the Faran Ensemble. They play various Persian and Middle Eastern instruments like the oud, kemenche and doumbek. I'm mot sure where they are from but they mix musical influences of Iran, Turkey and other areas of the Mediterranean. Generally a nice peaceful instrumental music to listen to while trying to beat stress at work.

Now its time to go to Mongolia to see Batzorig Vaanchig. He plays traditional Mongolian music with overtone singing along with his morin khuur aka horse head fiddle. I know a Mongolian here in Chicago who gives morin khuur and overtone singing lessons and he's good friends with Batzorig, basically everyone knows everyone since its such a small country.

That's all for now, I may post a few more world musicians on #ttt

Fun to hear instruments from around the world 🌏

Its dangerous for me as I then want to collect more instruments.

You have never failed to find the best the world has to offer. These are magnificent!

There a quite a few hidden gems out there. My main problem is trying to remember their names.

You're a great one for these unique type musical posts, really enjoyed this as usual. That last tune is unreal, he sounds like he swallowed a Didgeridoo!!!! Amazing, thanks for sharing...
