We had a blast last night at ZIBA's in Hitchin, sadly nothing to show, but the atmosphere was great!
Tonight we provided the entertainment for the Sue Ryder Starlight Walk 2025 at the Bedford Embankment.
Roisin had seen us play at an Open Mic and asked if we'd like to take part, and of course we did. My friend Nicola works for Sue Ryder and was marshalling as well not far from where we were positioned.
We used two Roland Cubes that we take out busking too. They can be battery powered and two give enough scope for us to plug in, we both need three inputs with two instruments and one vocal each.
As the walkers came in chunks did we turn off the cubes to save battery power and mine just made it to the end with old batteries in it.
We started to play around 7pm and packed up at around 9pm, which was much earlier than I thought it would be, but it gave us a chance to get a last glimpse of the main area with the stage, meet some of the staff and have a coffee before heading home.

Heute Abend haben wir beim Sue Ryder Starlight Walk 2025 am Bedford Embankment für Unterhaltung gesorgt.
Roisin hatte uns bei einem Open Mic gesehen und gefragt, ob wir mitmachen möchten, und natürlich haben wir zugesagt. Meine Freundin Nicola arbeitet für Sue Ryder und war ebenfalls als Ordnerin in der Nähe unseres Standorts tätig.
Wir haben zwei Roland Cubes verwendet, die wir auch beim Straßenmusikmachen mitnehmen. Sie können batteriebetrieben werden, und zwei bieten ausreichend Anschlussmöglichkeiten. Wir benötigen jeweils drei Eingänge mit zwei Instrumenten und einem Gesangsinstrument.
Da die Teilnehmer in Gruppen kamen, haben wir die Cubes ausgeschaltet, um Batterien zu sparen, und meiner hat es gerade noch mit alten Batterien bis zum Ende geschafft.
Wir begannen gegen 19 Uhr zu spielen und packten gegen 21 Uhr zusammen. Das war viel früher, als ich gedacht hatte. Aber so hatten wir die Gelegenheit, einen letzten Blick auf den Hauptbereich mit der Bühne zu werfen, einige Mitarbeiter kennenzulernen und einen Kaffee zu trinken, bevor wir nach Hause gingen.

That looks like fun, but I expect it was chilly. I know that spot quite well as we have been to the restaurant there when it has been under various names. I hope lots of money was raised.
