I Gauge My Pace So I Never Cry Wolf

... I go for walks in the woods and mimic the movements of the tiger, the leopard, and the crane, as these actions enable me to dovetail my exercise routine and nature fix for self-care.

💡TIP: Listen to the sounds of nature by playing all the video clips (at once)😉

Listening to my footsteps is therapeutic for my mind and walking helps to build my cardio, tone my legs, and helps keep my lymphatic system healthy against water retention and fatigue.
So, spending a few hours walking and sitting in the woods is the perfect way to recharge my batteries.

Life is challenging on its own, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed when difficult moments come bombarding. So, doing everything within my power to combat obstacles is my priority, and I try not to complicate my life with extravagance of any kind, and I keep it simple... and real.

An effortless thing as meditative walks in nature helps me to cultivate the positive energy that I need within me to carry on and stay afloat when things go topsy-turvy.

Standing meditation with deep breathing and slow movements, helps me to control and keep my random thoughts aligned with my personal goals and principles. This gives me the assurance and confidence to trust the process and pace at which my daily life passes.

I accept that I'm not superwoman and I take things in stride, which enables me to keep despondency at bay. I'm constantly reminding myself that I am the only one in charge of my emotions and attitude and I do what I can to keep my outlook on life positive.

Being in nature gives me positive energy and it helps me to steady the pace of my life by silencing my mind to think clearly and block out undesirable and negative disturbances of other people's unresolved thriving traumas, and other external influences that might affect me.

Energy is contagious.

I am mindful and I try to project a positive attitude; This is not a facade, it's a conscious effort to keep my mind leveled, and balanced so that I can make the right decisions to solve challenges that I face.

Life is a long road, thankfully, and I've chosen to travel the path that's simple and minimalist, to live in peace, and to be free.

I do take leaps and risks sometimes, because I'm not afraid of failure, and personally, success equals happiness and contentment.

I know that we sometimes feel like life is slipping away from us, and there might be the tendency for us to question ourselves and our decisions, as to whether we are doing the right things, the right way, and at the right time. However, I have learned to trust the process of how everything unfolds, invest my energy wisely, to only think about the things that I can control and ways to make improvements.

Time goes by, as it's supposed to...

These days, the mornings are darker and nights come quicker - an indication that the season is changing to autumn, and the year-end is near.
I do become more conscious of the pace of my life, and sometimes I feel like I'm falling back and I push myself. Just enough to keep me in gear to take small steps at a time. Taking stock of what you have accomplished can give motivation to advance and venture into new projects, and it is always better to try even if the desired results are not achieved the first time.

I try to go for these long walks every day, but there's something extra special about doing it on a Wednesday, a mid-week walk breaks the monotony of my weekly routine, and a meditative walk in the woods helps give me a good perspective on my life, and my purpose in the world.

No need to cry wolf does not imply that I would not ask for help if I needed it, but my daily habits help me to mitigate the need to depend on external vices for my happiness.

I hope these images of green spaces and sounds of nature helped to calm and relax you in some way, and if you also like to do similar exercises and movements in nature, please feel free to share them with me.

This is just a glimpse of some of the things I do in keeping me grounded in my minimalist world.

Thank you so much for stopping by, this is my response to the KISS Blog Ideas For The Week:)

This location looks like the perfect place to spend time outdoors! Those woods are beautiful, with such a fabulous trail! 💚

Thank you:)
I could not believe it when I first came to this part of the UK. That trail true the woods are the foot route to the town centre, so it's a dog walker's haven too. One section is hilly, which makes it more interesting... but I tried to go there every day, rain or shine 😍💚

I could imagine myself walking this trail and probably listening to these words you have written if only that is possible :D :D

I do become more conscious of the pace of my life, and sometimes I feel like I'm falling back and I push myself. Just enough to keep me in gear to take small steps at a time.

This is a reminder I tell myself all the time. One step at a time.

Hey there! Yes, taking things slowly can make a difference in our lives and can help to eliminate anxiety and stress.
I do hope that you'll get to enjoy some time in nature at any given chance.
Thanks for stopping by:)

I often fall into the trap of fretting over things I can't control. This is a good reminder for me to focus on things that are within my control.

Very nice walk and I love the accompanying videos 😃

Thanks, the videos were not the best quality because it was a wet grey day, but I thought I could share them to give an idea of what exactly I do and add some value to the post.

It took me a long time to first identify my tendency to worry about things that i can't control. I used to worry if I was not worried...no lie! It's been a journey for me, and I still have far to go:)

Woah listening to the sound of the birds and nature in the video, it's feels like I was also in the place of calmness added that I read your blog 4:20 AM haha. Surely one or the gift to be alone, just the nature and yourself and the environment of peace.

read your blog 4:20 AM

Haha! Filipinos do like waking up early, heh?

Yes, it's wonderful for me to have these walks. The sounds are amazing, and even if I'm home feeling stressed, after being in the woods for sometime always find me running and playing in the woods just like a kid and I feel alive🙏
Thanks for stopping by:)

Look like an awesome spot to go for a walk. Connecting with nature is such a great way to re-energize and re-connect with one's inner self.
Tiger pose looks challenging. Looks like a good leg workout 💪

Yeah, it's a beautiful area, right next to the woods. It's a hilly town too, and every day I go walking for about 4 hours... I just discovered another section of the woods that I'll explore more.

Yeah, the tiger is a good workout for the legs and the arms too...I didn't do the snake which is the hardest... I just wasn't comfortable doing the snake alone in the woods as the law of attraction is very strong...🤣

4 hours! Wow that's a super long walk. That's great 👍

I just wasn't comfortable doing the snake alone in the woods as the law of attraction is very strong...

Lmao 😂 🤣

You would love this place for walking your dog daily. Your dog would have many friends😆

Haha my dog actually hates other dogs

Love the thoughtful words and vibes Milly. Im relaxed thinking about how you put it, deep stuff. Good time for me to go to sleep now, and be the leopard in the tree, snoozing away.

And that purple jumpsuit...FIRRRREEEE 🔥

😊🤗 You've got a thing with words:)
Thank you 😊

Whoah! Love the vibes in the woods! Just got back from a vacation in the countryside and looking at your photos/video's plus listening to the sound of birds makes me misses home again!
We had the same surroundings, all I can see is green and sometimes even the sunlight could hardly pass those trees.indeed up having a hard time drying my laundy😂.

I spent time in Cebu, which is similar to my home country Jamaica. There is a lot of green nature there, but because of the snakes, I was not comfortable enough to go there alone.
I understand about not being able to dry your laundry sometimes... but I still enjoy the sounds and all that nature offers :)))

In every green outside, there is the heart of nature. What a cool thing to walk around the woods. Perhaps nature is my healer. I have been into emotional breakdowns but living in a place close to nature made me feel healed. I firmly believe that nature, too is a best and powerful doctor. And of course, freedom of time to roam around woods while listening to the sounds of the surroundings always warms my soul. Have a great walk and take care.

Sorry, I totally missed your comment.
I do hope that you'll gain some emotional stability, and yes, nature is a great remedy for that.
You might not have access to the woods or forests, but places like waterfalls, beaches, rivers, or any outdoor space can be beneficial. The Philippines has endless natural beauty where that is concerned.
Thank you for stopping :)

Aww, no worries, dear friend, @millycf1976. I so appreciate your kind words and I all agree with your opinion that Philippines has a lot to offer when it comes to the beauty of an amazing nature. Perhaps it is my natural doctor. Thank you too, for the well wishes. Have a great time and take care.

Do you have a company? It's not safe to go to the woods alone though. But I wish I could meditate like this. I started meditating recently every morning. And I feel getting better than before. ..

No, I prefer going in the woods alone; But I understand where your question is coming from.
Am I 100% comfortable in the woods alone? Absolutely not!

I am from Jamaica, and living in Jamaica you NEVER (can I say that louder) NEVER go into any fields or outdoor spaces alone.

So this has been a challenge for me to find comfort in the woods alone... which I have because it is a safe location here.
When I look at my movements in the video, I can gauge my improvements in the surroundings...
I go every day, and weeks ago when I evaluated myself in the videos, I was too wired (alert) and disturbed by every little sound, I was in attack/defense mood all the time. Now I am more relaxed...and I can still see it in the form of my movement... This has been good for me:)

That's good to know. Or maybe you can bring something that you can use to defend or protect yourself from any danger..

That's not a bad idea:)

😊

😊🤗

You have positive thoughts about life, one of which I can catch is that you are fully responsible for what we will do, that is very good and people may only see it in terms of words, not in meaning.
Thank you for the words of motivation for life that you give here, moreover you really enjoy your existence with this nature.
Have a nice day sis @millycf1976 🥰🥰

Thanks for your lovely comment.
Yes, I have always been a responsible person, even when I never realized it and others pointed it out 😆
Yes, being in nature is my happy place:)
Have a nice day!😍

That was so cool! I loved the Leopard, really impressive core well done.

Tiger too is pretty hard to do, keeping the legs far appart and staying low is incredibly difficult.

Thank you :)
Yes, they are all great core, leg, and good hip openers. The hardest of the moves is the snake, but I skipped doing that one.

I have had a frozen shoulder for some time that has been agonizing. The tiger movement definitely helps to loosen it up.

Thanks for stopping by 😊

What a great place indeed. This is a kind of place I really wanted to have some great connection with nature. Very calm and it really gives peace of heart and mind. Thankyou for sharing. 💚

Hello there!
Yes, it gives me so much peace of mind! No matter how stressed or low mood I might be, once I enter and make my way through the woods, all my troubles seem to disappear.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll get to spend some time in nature to reap the benefits too:)

It is my great pleasure to read your post. And I am glad that I can be able to see the great nature that you have there. May you have more moments with nature! 🙂

Thank you 😊
Have a nice Friday and a lovely relaxing weekend when it comes:)

Lovely post from the woods - the energy of the trees are truly energizing. I love the location as well it looks lovely and calming. Nice daily practice and movements. This post resonated as I have re-started my meditations.

Thanks for your feedback and compliments.
It's a lovely location indeed.
I hope that you'll continue to enjoy your walks and meditation too:)

This is awesome!

Is this Qi Gong?

Hey there!

Yes, it's a style of Qi Gong - those were 3 movements from the Wudang 5 Animal Qi Gong 😁
Do you also practice Qi Gong?

Awesome sauce!

Not yet!

I've been more into Yoga for many years but have always had an interest in Tai Chi because of how beautiful it is. I did start the practice but was doing Shaolin as the main focus and the school I went to was a bit gung ho and put me off :)

I have a dear friend who's been quite serious about Qi Gong for many, many years and (from what I've witnessed) it's pretty remarkable stuff.

Health wise.

He recently had an injury that he managed to heal a lot faster than was expected with it. So I'm very keen to learn now. Powerful stuff! 🔥

I also want my son to start this. I think it's great training and discipline and probably really good for the mind as well 👍

Very inspiring post 😊

How's Jamaica? Are you there yet?

Shaolin was the main focus and the school I went to was a bit gung ho and put me off

I get that completely. I stumbled upon Qi Gong out of the blue, as I'd only ever heard of Tai Chi. I purchased a DVD and never got on very well with the DVD... but I was intrigued and signed up for a diploma course. That's when I got a deeper understanding and realized just how powerful it was. The strangest thing is that while I was studying, a Martial Arts expert Kung Fu, Tai Chai, and Qi Gong became my neighbour. He took me under his wing and introduced me to this style of Qi Gong and we practiced every morning.

He compared this style with the Shaolin too and expressed similar sentiments to you.
Qi Gong is some powerful stuff, and it would be great for your son. I've done and still do Yoga, which I absolutely love. However, the benefits I gain from Qi Gong are immediate and last a long time, because it is an internal martial art for the mind and body. It's 5 Animal movements that correlate with the meridians and energy flow in the body.

Here's a link to the video that my mentor showed me and told me to practice every day. He does not give instructions for breathing which is super important, but you can see the flexibility and range of his body. This opens different blocks in the body.

This video will lead you to others, that will also have verbal instructions.

I have left for Jamaica yet... my husband is British and American, and he's in the process of renewing both passports. His dual nationality caused a delay in the process, but it gives him the chance to work part-time which helps to secure more funds for traveling:)))

Wowza!

Thanks for this amazing response 🔥

Now even more keen to learn this. It will be done 👍

Thanks for taking such time and effort to reply and send the info and video. Much appreciated.

Admin... meh. But I guess it gives you a moment to breathe and be ready for the journey ahead ❣️

My pleasure:)

Yeah, it will all fall into place for sure.

Have a lovely Sunday:)

Sorry - no admin required so you don't need to respond, Milly :)

But happy Monday while I'm here!

Just tagging @mattimix to entice him to get on to Hive (hopefully)

I'll wish you a Happy Monday too:)
I was just reading your lengthy post from yesterday, I'll leave a comment on that shortly!

Ah :) Thanks! I think it's the lengthy lineup and video that make it look longer than it really is.

I hope you enjoy it and thanks for connecting. <3

And yes. That makes sense.

The breathe is the foundation of a lot, if not all, of everything.

Yes, the three main things are deep breathing, slow meditative movement, and a focal point which helps to reduce distractions:)

Good training, training on how to walk through life unfazed 👍

And I'm enamored with how he moves in full. I love dance and this is next level control.

I'm going to sue this to try and get a friend on Hive ;)

Hopefully I'll be back!

Have a beautiful evening 🌸

And he's incredible. The way he moves... you were super lucky here 👀

yeah, it's lovely to watch his smooth movement:)

I love getting out into the woods to decompress and recharge the batteries of life. Looks like an awesome place that you went! Love having that stuff close by, helps keep us sane for sure!

The woods is an incredible place to be, even in the rain. I think it's an amazing public footpath to the town. I like places that are conducive for pedestrians and cyclists.

Yes, nature helps to keep me sane without a doubt:)
