Since I did my Spring declutter focused on beauty products, I have to say I've been good with using up what I have - there's only a couple of products I purchased. In the meantime I took upon myself to deal with a bunch of kids clothes, mainly from my niece so I dropped a few back to H&M for their recycling program. I am still left with a bunch of clothes to donate, one bag to recycle and some to sell. The thing is I have been procrastinating with it for SO LONG and I look at these piles of clothes every day which makes me overwhelmed, stressed out and it takes out a lot of joy and clarity when I spend time in my room.

Another thing is that my niece and nephews are spending summer here with us so I also have my nephew's clothes in my room because it's easy accessible. To sum it up, my space is taken over by kids clothes, lol! I have been feeling the urge to also go through my own stuff once as I can already think of some clothes I haven't been wearing at all this summer. Luckily my desk space is still the same, sometimes it gets messy but it's the easiest thing to tidy up. Having it this way really helps me mentally, I feel more relaxed and it's easier to focus.

I have been going back to this photo of my room few years ago and I really like how simple and clutter-free it looks. Now I have a radiator under the window so I cannot properly fit my bed or desk in the corners which makes my furniture arranging options very limited. I also have my big suitcase, one smaller table, a bedside table, one of those big heaters that I will try to sell - overall it has been an overwhelming mess and I am really looking forward to get rid of some of this stuff. I'll keep this photo as a reminder and inspiration to keep me going. I know I should just take baby steps and do tasks one by one to gain that momentum, from there everything will go easier...
Have you ever experienced something like this, being frustrated by material things/mess/too much stuff? Let me know in the comments! Other than that, I wish you all a wonderful day! :)

Hello @nikolina
I was not aware that H&M had a recycling scheme. I wonder if that's just to go in landfills, or if they donate them to charities in developing countries. I'll do some research on that.
I admire your desk, even though you say it gets messy sometimes, and I trust that you'll find a creative way to organise your room to give it a clutter-free look and feel despite all the additions since this photo.
I wish you all the success with that :)))
It's the only recycling program for clothes in my city that I know of, I am not sure if it's the best solution but I only take clothes that is damaged, has holes or stains on it, otherwise I donate it to the local shelter for kids, teenagers and young adults.
Thank you so much for your well wishes, I guess I just have to accept that this time it won't be one big overnight change but rather a process of doing tasks one at a time. :)
You are totally right about that @nikolina
Baby steps, one day at a time. Sometimes you might feel like you are not making progress, but it is actually just different avenues to your goal.
Take care and pop by anytime:)
I'm quite skeptical when it comes to recycling clothes. I had seen a German tv show, where they recorded the route followed by the clothes for recycling. Almost 90% ended up in the hands of people who had connections with organized crime and they resold them in third world countries making crazy profits. I prefer to "recycle" the liturgical vestments by going to my parish church! Nice post Nikolina
I am also not sure if H&M recycling program is a good thing, I just don't want to throw it away in the garbage. I do donate to the local shelter where they accept clothes for kids and up to 19 years old but I also don't want to donate a bunch of kids clothes that is damaged, has holes in it or it's stained - those I recycle. Even if I try to donate them, I think they would just throw it away. Sometimes I cut up clothes made of cotton, it comes in handy for cleaning around the house or in my brother's big garage where he does mechanical work. :)
I wish there was a better solution, I will do more research on that topic.
I dont judge you, if i were in your shoes i maybe i would do the same! 😉

very minimalist room, it feels comfortable.
I am working on getting it as close as it was on that photo. :)
"Have you ever experienced something like this, being frustrated by material things/mess/too much stuff?"
Yes, I am frustrated that I can not get rid of my drafts, papers, notes, etc.
You never know when you will need them again.
