Last night I went out for a walk with the intentions of going into an abandoned Studebaker car factory to play with light painting. There is only a small section of the factory that still remains but it is a great spot. This plan quickly changed when I arrived. I peaked inside to see about 10 tents set up, A large fire going and people arguing. The drug addicts have taken it over, so I needed a plan b.
I walked down the street and saw indicator lights on the train tracks showing that a train was coming and before I could get my camera set up a medical helicopter came in and landed on the hospital (only a block away). I have always wanted to get light trail of the helicopter landing or taking off and trains are always fun for light trails.
Within minutes of setting my camera up, the road signals came down and the train went by.
Very happy with the train shots, I waited for a while to see if the helicopter would take off, but it never did! So I continued along the train tracks, passing several more drug camps. All with large fires which made no sense to me, it was not cold out at all. Then another train passed when I got close to the station.
I remembered a neat area under a bridge that I used a very long time ago and hadn't been back to because of, you guessed it. It had a druggie camp for a long time. But I was there so why not have a look.
The camp that was there had burnt down and the area was clear! So why not play with steel wool.
On my way out another train went by and I was able to snap a couple of shots and then one of a bus going by on the road above.
It is getting tricky to be out at night in downtown Hamilton, but it is still semi doable. For now.

Train click is amazing! Sometimes we keep on waiting for events to happen so that we can save them in camera but they never did. On the other hand, when we don't have camera then many events happen.
