Summer rain street photography | 15 rolls in 15 days - Day 3

We start off the third day on a still dry streets waiting for the predicted rain and thunderstorm. Tourists from all over the world are flooding the streets lately and it was no different this Saturday afternoon. Cheaper costs of living and more freedom are becoming important to people in this time of uncertainty. And with so many jobs and business turning online, relocating is no longer a problem.

I made a few circles around downtown streets when suddenly small rain turns into a heavy downpour and I had to run towards the shelter to avoid being completely drenched. During those 15 minutes of downtime you could only see occasional passers-by running from the rain - the rest are all in a hideout. Well I couldn't wait any longer - as the rain slightly subsided I continued my walk and embraced the moment.

There is something about summer rain that puts the smile on my face and makes me want to dance in it. It's an incredible feeling. As I was skipping on the river of water that quickly filled the streets, I was watching others who went for it as well and greeting their smiley, joyous faces. Moments like these that get you out of your thoughts into the body and the present moment - it's when we are most alive. What an enjoyable day and the photo results are below. Taken with Fuji X-Pro2 and 35mm F/2 lens.

This challenge is designed to push me to shoot more, think more about what I'm shooting and also to start posting more regularly. It's supposed to imitate shooting a film camera, 1 roll each day and posting the results. Recently I shot a roll of Kodak film and it inspired me to bring this series back. Here are the general guidelines:

- Create up to 36 photographs each day
- Select and post at least 10 photographs
- Don't look at images on the LCD screen

Hope you'll enjoy and follow along.

Wow I didn’t know about you challenge!! It’s very interesting and useful to commit to do something, good luck with that!!

Your pictures are great, I also like how you described it! The tourists and how jobs online are making possible relocation!!

Challenges make it easier to commit to certain habits. It's the discipline to do things everyday that counts and changes our life, not what we do once in a while. :) Thank you!

Absolutely!! Those are very wise words!!

The rain is so appreciated when it has hidden its face for a very long time and it's a good thing it came and put a smile on your face.

The images are all beautiful and they explained more of what you have written.

Thank you and that's very true! Rain can feel so good sometimes.

Yes it can.

You are welcome 👍.
