Benin - Ganvié - Cité lacustre (Nikon camera)

Today I want to show you other pictures of Ganvié, a city built on a lake in Benin (west Africa).
I have talked about this city in this post:
Ganvié - Cité lacustre

This lake is very close to the ocean and it communicates with it, so there is salt in the water and water is not drinkable.
There are two fountains in the lake, and people collect it in big bins.
The waste water (animal excrements included) are poured into the lake, but luckly the water is not very deep (about 2 meters high), so the strong solar radiation permits a good disinfestation.

It has been a great luck to visit this special and unique place!
I hope you take a tour in this city with my images!

There are no electricity, so they use some generators, creating noise and pollution.

Thank you very much! I hope me too. They are just a bit angry because of Ganviè has been included in Unesco heritage but they aren't helped enough.
