Out and Back Road Views

Kind of a nice day today, had to run to the refuse station and thought the sky was interesting so a couple of smart phone shots.

Heading Out View
This was the shot taken at 2:21 pm. You can see the leading edge of the next weather system to come in. By 8 pm I expect full over cast skies, maybe a little bit more snow.

Heading HomeThis one was taken at 2:27 pm looking in the direct opposite direction of the first. As you can see looking slightly west only a few clouds, it will not last that way very long, the next system from the south is creeping in.

The worrisome part is, is it going to be snow or is it going to be rain, right now the temperature is a nice feeling 18 F, (minus 7.7 C), nice feeling in that there was no wind, and no real significant moisture in the air, so a dry 18, much better feeling than a moisture laden 18.

I guess I'll know on Sunday morning if it was rain or if it was snow.

Photo's taken with my Samsung smart phone.

I agree 100% that humidity has a lot to do with how cold those cold temps feel. I can easily stand out side in a tee shirt at 20F with low humidity and no wind. Looks like rain and 50’s here tomorrow. Maybe a rumble of thunder even. I’ll take it over the ice they will get just off to our west.

Pretty bad when parts of Texas are colder than Alaska 23F today for us, and yeah no jacket required, pretty concerned with the next two days possible mix of rain and snow, that kind of stuff I really don't like, fortunately we don't need to go anywhere for the next couple of days. Stopping was pretty iffy on a couple of the side streets, lots of room needed to be taken just in case.
