Reflected Mist - 2nd Shot From My Saturday Walk By The Lake

Reflected Mist

Another shot from my Saturday walk around the lake. This Time I shot the photo without much landscape at all. The only thing not reflected in this photo is the water surface, the mist rising above it, and a small dark patch of the back at the very top.

I like this photo for several reasons.. I like how the water is so smooth that it reflects the landscape seamlessly in an upside down fashion. I also think the mist coming off the surface of the water adds a whole other dimension to the photo. If it weren’t for the mist, then the photo would just simply be a reflected shot of the landscape. In its own right, reflection shots are cool, but having some thing like the mist in the sun add to the frames visual appeal.

There’s some morning mist still in the air.. and it is quite low to the horizon, so the sun isn’t extremely bright. Maybe this is some of the mist that has escaped off of the, warmer than air, waters. Instead, it appears like it’s a sunset rather than a sunrise. I’m loving the halo forming around the sun and shining through the tree limbs just enough or you can still make them out. The song plays a huge role in this photo and that it illuminates the mist coming up off the water in wisps. The largest of those wisps just happens to be on the same vertical line as the sun. This adds some symmetry to the overall feel of the photography.

Hope you enjoyed this one as much as the previous shot I shared yesterday. Let me know what you think! I’m anxious to find out.

God bless you dear.

Thank you so much for the compliments!! 😁 I appreciate your input and feedback on this shot. God Bless you too 😊

I got my first bit of snow driving in on Sunday heading to my nieces basketball game. I would have much preferred weather like this! Beautiful shot!

Aww Shucks! Snow Yuck! haha. Better you than me. You knew it was coming eventually. Before we know it it will be spring and camping weather again. Thanks for the compliments on the shot 😁

Yeah, it definitely feels like time flies faster the older I get. I have a feeling we might be in for a rough winter this year.

I like this image also, I think I like the first one better, but this has a lot going for it. One thing in this photo I find interesting is pretty much in the middle the water mirror areas with the water ripples running through. The foreground so mirror smooth, the back ground so ethereal with the mist, and then there are the ripples between the dark trees and in the water lending lateral movement to the scene, to counter the vertical movement of the mist and the non movement of the foreground. A very nice shot, but I still like yesterdays better.

Me too.. Me too. I shot several more, but haven't had a chance to open them to see if they need any tweaking. I also have a video .. maybe I'll check 3Speak out and try posting it through there front end.

Not a perfect mirror image. Those damn ripples had to go and mess it all up.. hehe.. I like the ripples too. They do add just a little something to make it real. Thanks for looking and for the support and comment! 😁

Here is your Proof of Brian. I think you meant #ProofOfBrain

What? I actually misspelled it as ProofOfBain not Brian but thanks anyhow.

I'm a simple bot, but I look for various mis-spellings. #proofofbrian is surprisingly common.
