Baby Photography - Some things i learned

First, photographing babies is not easy :)

The easiest way to do this is to have a studio and props for it. And if you want to do it that would probably be the way to go. Photographing at location is always harder as you never know how much space will you have and how will you be able to light it.

This time i was lucky to be able at least go to 35mm for most photos. If i had to go 24 or 18mm for most shots it would kinda be a problem. Especially because i don't have an 18mm full frame lens :)

Large softboxes are great, but sometimes on location you can't set them up, there is just no space for it. This time i was lucky and in the end decided to go bare flash pointed at the celling. I was lucky because the celling was white and walls were nice warm color so bouncing of it was ok for me.

If you are on location, try to take your time. Not easy when you have 3 babies around but try. I like the close up photo but changing from 85mm to 35mm gave me the perspective of the room (i also like the bunny :) )

One thing to consider, if you want the nice close up shots of details and cute poses it is essential to do those photos in few first month, while babies are mostly sleeping and ignoring everything that is going on. Doing it when they start to be active and moving a lot is kinda hard with shallow depth of field. So i kinda failed in that department.

Overall i am happy with photos i got, hope my friends are too.
